Up until this week baby one would nurse and then pull off the boob and snuggle into me and go to sleep. Now, in the past 4 or 5 days he wants to be constantly on there and sucking. He does this weird little flutter suck like on a paci and it's annoying. Also every time he goes to sleep and falls off, he wakes abruptly snorting and grunting and trying desperately to find the nipple again. It's really that last part that gets me. I cannot sleep because of it. I can sleep through him being latched on, but the snorting and rooting wakes me every time. I'm getting exhausted and I'm going back to work next week. Any ideas on why he's doing this and how to make it a bit better?
ETA: He refuses a paci, gags on it. I did a before and after weight check yesterday for fear that my supply during the day was low and he was trying to make up calories at night, but he hoovered down 3 oz in 5min when he wasn't even all that hungry. He does have reflux but he's on prevacid for it and it seems to work great. He will sleep in the swing for 1.5-2hrs at a stretch during the day without me.
