Reflux? Not sleeping because of it? Read this.

Austin had wicked reflux and slept in his bouncy seat or car seat in his crib for months. Well, until he didn't fit in the bouncer anymore- he hated the car seat long before that.

With Camry, we've had her sleeping in the bouncer, too- her reflux is worse than AJ's was. DH found this www.napnanny.com and I started reading reviews on Amazon, etc. Since I know that the bouncer isn't quite 30 deg, and I know how fast they outgrow the bouncer (plus the fact that the angle their hips bend at is unnatural in that thing), and the fact that I was getting desperate for her to sleep longer than 90 minutes, we ordered one.

The first night, she slept 4.5 hours straight. Second night, 3.75 hours. Last night? 5 hours at one stretch. No shit. Austin never slept that long in the bouncer, and Camry hasn't slept more than 2 hours at a stretch since she was born. She still refluxes as soon as I put her in it- I mop up the milk as it shoots out, and then she settles and that's that. Still does some grunting and squirming, but she's much calmer overall. And she SLEPT!

So, if you're battling the reflux demon and your LO isn't sleeping, it might be worth trying. I was really hesitant about the $$$, but it looks like they re-sell pretty well on ebay.

Well hallelujah!!!!!

That's great news - I'd been eyeing that thing up, but turns out Charlotte does pretty well flat on her back. Even though she spits up some pretty impressive quantities at least once a day, I'm convinced she doesn't have diagnosable reflux. Cause she's smiling while she does it - couldn't care less

Great news that you all are getting some SLEEP! I don't know how you're still able to type, quite frankly. I feel like vomiting when I need to be up twice in the night....ugh!@

The reflux demon resides here, but I can't put Caleb down to sleep. He won't sleep anywhere but on me or next to me. Not even in the co-sleeper! If I put him a few inches away from my in our bed, he flops like a fish until he's tucked right into me! It's crazy.

Toby was like this, too, but I was able to get him into the co-sleeper at 3 months. But, he slept deeply! This one? He doesn't sleep deeply at all. Still trying to find the magic dosage of reflux meds that will allow him to sleep.
