Need a chunky yarn, quick knit longies pattern

I'm really wanting to knit up some wool longies for my daughter that can be finished rather quickly, with a chunkier yarn than worsted weight, which is what most patterns call for... but i cant seem to find a pattern like that. Any help ladies? (if size matters, she's currently 11 lbs but only 1 month old and growing quickly... i think she'll be in 6 month clothing really soon...)

Also, if it can be knitted flat, that's better but not necessary....

thanks!

this may nott be helpful as i'M Acroheter and don't like wool yarns but...I'm using lion brand (think) homespun to make baby leggings. it's soft, and fun colored and chunky so I can use a big hook and not have any holes. good luck on your project!

I know Perection Pants allow you to use any yarn.

Making baby pants is so simple! Figure out your gauge for your yarn/needles, figure out how many inches wide and long you need. I start at the top, knit in the round (so simple, even for a beginner), k2p2 ribbing for an inch or two, then it's just knit for the butt part. Make the butt part bigger than you think you'll need, it never seems to be big enough. When you get done with the butt part, put half your stitches on a holder and just keep knitting till you get to the bottom of your legs where you can end with a garter stitch, ribbing, moss, whatever. PIck up your holder stitches and complete.

If you wanna get a little more technical, you can add some short rows to the butt area (2-4), and you can add a few stitches to the crotch area, take the middle few stitches from the front and back, kitchener them, and you have a much nicer crotch.

I started making these with no pattern and they were like the third thing I ever knitted! Very easy and forgiving!!!
