Best price on Glucose test strips?

I'm planning a UC so I'm posting this here.....hope that is ok.

I know the glucose monitors are pretty cheap and that you really pay a lot for the test strips. Could someone recommend a place to get a good deal on the testing strips and I will get the monitor that goes with them.

I am currently borrowing a monitor but need to purchase my own and I'd like to get the best deal possible on the strips.

Are you intending to do this long term, or just once/intermittently for disgnostic purposes?

Walmart sells one that is a testing meter and 50 strips in one. It is $20. If you just need to test occasionally, i think it's a great value. Andi have 2 other meters, but honewstly, the $20 for the self-contained tester and strips in one is cheaper than just buying 50 strips for either of my other meters.

But, if you are goign to be testing daily, you'll need more thamn 50 strips, so looking into the big packs of strips will probably be cheaper in the long run. Store brnds are usually cheaper, walmart, walgreens, etc.
Otherwise, you just have to look aruond a bit. Sometimes you can get a great sale.

I'd like to be able to keep track for the last 7 weeks of this pg. I shouldn't need it past that as I've never had an issue in past pregnancies or when non-pg.

I seem to be well within normal levels unless I eat stupidly (english muffin for breakfast, carbs for lunch and more carbs for dinner) as long as I eat protein I'm fine. I just want to be able to check.

50 might not be enough but if I bought 2 that should do it and still cost about the same as a tester + 50 strips.

Look in the newspapers the next couple of weeks or on the frugality board about coupons from recently.

A lot of times, there are deals for a free monitor from CVS or something and then they have coupons for the strips too.\

Checking pricing of course would work out better than just getting whatever the coupon is for but it is possible to help!
