I need help/reassurance!!! Breech Babies and Homebirth....

Hi, I usually just lurk around and find the information I need, but I really need some imput on this. I am newly pregnant with baby #2. I had a scheduled c-section with my first daughter for breech presentation. I didn't want that but I wasnt as informed as I am now (flash forward 3 years, I am a student midwife). I have a bicornuate uterus which tends to lead to breech babies. Last time I tried everything (websters, moxibustion, flips in the pool) but a version because they said it was too risky with my uterine septum... to get to the heart of the issue, I am terrified of having another baby in the hospital. I trust my body, I know that breech is just a variation of normal birth and is less risky than a 2nd section. I have seen so many beautiful homebirth in my training... I guess I just would like to hear stories from some mommies in a similar situation... And if anyone knows some positive breech homebirth stories.... please post them. Please no horror stories. I just need some support. And any information you think might be helpful... thanks

No real advice on the breech hb part... but, there is a good chance that your next baby/ies will not be breech.

I also had a csect for my son who was breech and I also have a bicorn uterus with a smaller septate. My next baby, I did all the positioning things, etc and she was head down. This baby is also head down. I have heard that once your uterus stretches, it allows for greater room teh next time around. A lot of women have their first one breech and the rest are all head down because baby has a bit more space.

Anyway, I hope the best for you. And, yes, breech is just another version of normal!

Thanks for your info. I have heard that stretching can happen and it makes sense. I just dont know how common it is. My bicornuate is a little more extreme, my uterus is about 3/4 divided which is a little more than heart shaped. Maybe at least this baby will have enough room to turn with encouragement from the chiro.

No personal experience but wanted to post a breech birth story I came across while looking for a midwife.

My chiropractor had a beautiful breech homebirth (the breech part was a surprise!). I think she's a member on here and will pass along this thread to her to see if she can post her story.

Just wanted to let you know that I am also planning an HBAC for this baby, so you are not alone! My first daughter was also breech. It has helped me to visualize my successful home birth experience, so that I can feel positive about it. If I can see it in my mind's eye, I feel like I can do it! Good luck!

Many hugs to you mama! Just wanted to let you know that I had a beautiful homebirth to my baby girl almost a year ago and she was a surprise breech. Here is her story: http://www.mothering.com/discussions....php?t=1012362

No personal experience to share but I know there are at least a few good breech birth videos on you tube. It might be helpful to see normal vaginal breech.

Thanks for your responses.. i have been eagerly awaiting them. I have seen a few videos of breech birth.... even attended a surprise breech. the thing that keeps popping back into my head is the possibility of head entrapment. I wonder how the rest of you deal with random fears that pop into your head (if they do... hope i am not alone!) I am really comforted and grounded knowing there are other strong women out there who are planning homebirths under similar circumstances...
