Now, if they would just relate the same information to the other popular strain I would be elated!

That report came up a month ago, it doubles the chance of getting H1N1 not the regular flu. So they suspended it because of swine flu. It'll be business as usual once H1N1 is out of the way.

Many of the provinces may have suspended seasonal flu shots, including Nova Scotia where I live. But guess what? Starting tomorrow, as an employee of the local hospital I can get both H1N1 and the seasonal flu shot; which are supposedly safe when given together as long as they're in different arms. Community clinics start Nov. 2, though I'm not sure for what. I'm pretty sure MIL and FIL have just received their seasonal flu shots and are lining up for the other one ASAP.

Now I'm even more confused, if that's even possible. I know the study referred to last season's flu shot, but it did seem to be enough to give the government pause for a while. I really have been trying to keep up, but their recommendations are changing at a dizzying pace. We are currently not planning to vaccinate anyone for anything, though dh is tempted because he fixes computers at the hospital is in every single area of the hospital and working with "high touch" equipment all the time.

Does anyone know how much is safe for a daily supplement? I do 2,000 but I wasn't sure if I should do more.

CHoney, do you mean vitamin D? On the advice of our naturopath, dh and I take 8000 IU and dd (5 years old, about 40 pounds), takes 3000 IU.

I had a good laugh about this earlier. Replace the risk of one flu with another. It's a sure sign, in my opinion, that there are too many vaccines when one increases your chance of getting something else? What next, yet another drug to counteract the effects, and another to counter that?
