Got the Pool!

Saw the HB midwife today for my 37/38 week visit. Got the pool

It is a la bassine pro. She sent a liner, air compressor, waterbed faucet adaptor, tarp to go under it, themometer, scoopy thing (gosh I don't want that to have to be used) but not a hose. She said to use our regular garden hose we already have. Dh says that sounds fine. But is it? I have seen before were you should use a drinkable water hose, but have seen websites that say use a garden hose. What do you all think?

Is there anything missing that I need that I did not list. We were not getting a pump. I think I'll just let DH deal with how he gets the water out of the house since he seems to think everything about all this set up is no big deal.

I figure that we will air it up soon just to make sure it doesn't link. Seems I have read posts here where people said they kept their's aired up. Should we? It takes up a lot of space and DSs would not be able to stay away! I guess that just depends on how long it takes to air up?

Most garden hoses have lead in them, so check to see if yours is safe.

I chose to air up my pool a few weeks beforehand. It was new & had the "plastic" smell. We put it in the nursery so the dog wouldn't get into it & pop it.

Turn up your hot water heater also. Isn't the LB 100 gallons? It is a BIIIGGGG pool!

We set our up for a trial yesterday. It just came and we only had 48 hrs to call with a leak.
So basically, we found that with the intex compressor, it took only 10 min. to blow up. We have 4 kids and a nephew that lives with us, SO we have a 60 gal hot water heater and a 20 gal. add on tank. It took about 35-40 min to fill and stayed warm for about 3 hrs.
We bought a garden pond pump and it took 40 min to drain.

Oh and we bought a lead free drinking hose in the RV camper section of walmart. It is 25 ft long and was $9.99.

Best wishes.
BTW- I loved the feel of it, and really can't wait to use it.
