Best soap to wash in?

We are using pocket diapers that are made with organic hemp fleece. We are having some staining issues. What is the best laundry soap to wash the diapers in? We were using some oxyclean and that seemed to help.

Thanks in advance!

Detergent is really personal preference and what works well with your water. I've used a lot of different detergents but have found Charlies Soap to work the best for us and our very hard water. I choose not to add any softener to the water to cut down on cost. CS is only I think 11 cents a load and for diapers and my DHs very greasy work clothes I soak on the hot wash for 30 minutes or until I remember to restart the washer I have found that that gets even synthetics really clean. We have a top loader so that may help I know people who have great luck with there front loaders bit ours didnt do a good job at all. So we sold it and bought a top loader and have had great luck. You order charlies online and if you order more than 28$ worth its free shipping so I just make sure to order at least 2 bags at a time. Each bag does 80 loads. Good luck on your quest for the perfect detergent. Also staining depends on a lot of things one being how ling between washes and if you do a cold wash first (you dont have to use soap on this wash) I dont know if it is safe for hemp someone else will have to chime in but you can fill the washer or sink with straight hot water (after dipes have been washed) and soak all night then was as usual in the am. Works great! As does sunning.

I think most diaper detergents don't have anything for stain fighting. I heard the best method is to hang them in the sun or use oxiclean. For me, stains are just a sign the diapers are used and I don't really care. But I don't plan on selling them anytime soon.

Otherwise, I've heard wonderful things about Crunchy Clean and I'm waiting for my bag. I was using Arm and Hammer Sensitive but it was taking way too long to rinse the soap out even if I only used 1 or 1/2 tablespoon. Any less and they still stunk after.

We make our own laundry soap that works great on my husband work cloths, getting all of the stains out, but I wonder if the ingrediants would be ok for diapers. We use a basic soap made out of soybean, coconut & olive oil, and then add to it borax and wasing soda. Our little one isn't here yet, so I haven't tried it on diapers, but if those ingrediants are good for the diapers it's really easy to make.

I agree that this is really a personal thing, depending on the type of water you have.

I've used country save in the past, and liked it.

The water where we live now is softer, but I'm not yet sure what to use. I'd like to try Allens, but here is a list of things that work and don't for diapers:

Yeah, I've found them to be super helpful and take a lot of the questions out of everything, and help keep the diapers from having to be stripped. Plus, with so many choices, one is bound to find something they can get in the store.
