I haven't used it YET because my kiddos are too small, but I plan on doing this approach with my children. Very good and also reminds me of what I've heard Montessori schools do to teach reading. One thing is that she advocates introducing the sounds of the letters before the names of the letters. She wants them to learn all the sounds first and as soon as they recognize a few sounds, maybe (a, m, t, c, and b) or whatever being able to have them spell words on their own by sounding out letters instead of just teaching them "b-a-t spells bat" she would say "can we find the letters that make the sounds for bat". there are SOME sight words training.
