winter squash seeds

pretty new to this forum - hope this question makes sense!

I roasted four acorn squash - whole. I scooped out the cooked(?) seeds and kept them seperate from the flesh. Normally, before I heard of sprouting things, I'd have rinsed them, tossed them w/ some salt and oil (oooh - maybe butter now that I'm reading about WAP?!) and roasted/toasted them slowly at low heat til they were dry and crispy. Hmmmm...

I've rinsed them. Are squash seeds something that could be better for us if they were sprouted? (not that I know how to do that! ) Or since they've already been heated/cooked, is that impossible? If I *hadn't* cooked the squash whole, could the seeds be sprouted?

Thanks for any tips!

Probably killed them if you cooked them, oughta go ahead and roast them, tossed in melted butter or palm or coconut oil, salt, maybe spices, definitely yummy. But with raw squash seeds, you can soak 10 hours, drain thoroughly, rinse daily for 2-3 days then pick off the hulls and eat them, maybe chopped up and put in a dip or a sauce. Alfalfa, clover, lentils, or mung beans are more popular sprouting choices.
