Oversupply = reflux?

I've had an oversupply issue since day one. I've been block feeding for over a month now and it hasn't seemed to completely resolved itself. I've increased the block feeding times and it still hasn't made a significant difference. He still chokes and gags at the boob...I cannot feel my letdown so I'm unable to pull him off and spray into a towel. He's almost three months so I'm hoping he'll eventually be able to pull off himself before the let down. I'm wondering if I should just nurse on one boob all day and then switch to the other boob the next day.
Right now the biggest issue is he has reflux that is keeping him up at night. He likes to breastfeed to sleep (ie sucking to sleep) but I'm thinking it's contributing to his reflux.
This morning alone, he's spit up at least seven times in less than an hour. Is that normal??
He won't take to a pacifier anymore - he was taking to it about two weeks ago but suddenly he will just gag on it and spit it out. I'm really at my wits end.
So my question is this: how do you soothe a baby who insists on sucking to fall asleep when you have an oversupply problem (but won't take to a pacifier)?

I feel for you! I had similar issues with oversupply and forceful letdown. Has your LO been diagnosed with reflux? Sometimes babies just spit up extra milk but it's not actually reflux. Does it seem to bother him? Our LO had trouble sleeping because all the air he sucked in while gulping down milk turned into gas in his belly! We tried everything and ended up using Mylicon for a few months until he was able to nurse without choking.

If you don't feel your letdown, can you hear the change in your LO's sucking? Usually when they start gulping, your milk has let down. You could try popping him off when you hear the change.

I used the same boob for four hour intervals. My friend used the same boob 12 hours. You can play around with the timing and see if something works.

Hope this helps.
