Breastfeeding commercial! Yay!

I just saw an actual breasfeeding commercial! It was for Medela, and I saw it on Discovery Health during Maternity Ward.

It's so great to see a pro-BF commercial amidst all the formula ads. I think I'll write to Discovery Health and tell them how pleased I am as a breastfeeding mama to see natural baby feeding represented in their advertising choices. I encourage those of you who agree (which, I gather, is pretty much all of you ) to do the same when you see this ad during the shows you watch.

I've seen a BF commercial over here too which was good to see, the only thing that made ne go 'what???' was at the end they said something like 'and this is how women have been feeding their babies for 200000 years...' .... so what, before then we didn't BF? lol

tech-e-necickly, the earliest homosapien is about 200-250K years old. but that's the nerd in me! Maybe before then we weren't considered women? I do agree that it's a strange thing to say. Maybe they were combating the "Number one formula for 50 years" lines.

I haven't seen that one yet, I don't think, but I will be pumped if I do! I did see on Colbert where the pudgy little guy who was denied HC was breast fed, he called the mom's boobs Ben and Jerry

I have to admit that I have mixed feelings about it. I LOVE it pretty much until the end: "So when you're ready to think about breastfeeding, think Medela." Which kind of undermines the whole thing about it being free and natural and the vast majority of women being able to do it without having to purchase any extra equipment.
