BM going sour quickly?

This is so weird...I could keep freshly pumped BM in my fridge for like 10 days (new tried to keep it longer) and it would still be good when I was pumping for DS1, but, now with DS2 my BM is going bad in as little as 3 days? It is really frustrating. I can't figure out what is different that is making this happen?

And yes, it is definitely BAD, it smells bad enough you want to throw up - it is not just the "odd" smell BM might have if you ate something weird or if it came from the freezer etc.

So why is this? Should I be freezing it right away if it is not to be used the same day or next day? Usually it is used quickly, but, I am going to have the whole weekend off and I will be pumping. Oh, and this weekend I will also be out of town while pumping (baby will be with me, but, I will be feeding him from the tap).

Are you sure your refrigerator is working properly? Spoiled milk is usually the first sign of fridge on the fritz. Stick a thermometer in it and see if it's under forty in there. If it's not the fridge I haven't a clue.

I also have been pumping straight into the bottles and putting the nipple on sometimes which is less airtight. I'm going to try only storing in my freezer bags for a bit and see if that helps, if not I will get some new (maybe some glass) containers and try those....but, that makes so much sense!
