vax info

Thread Starter
well I need to dig much deeper into the vax issue. So far I have kept my son on a delayed, alternative schedule. His last two shots he did have a reaction. ( I will never be giving him those two again)

I am looking for futher resources other then Sears type info.

I want to educate my self so I can make the best decision for my son.
Please help me!

Thanks
Jill

I agree with Harmony about looking at pro-vax sites too to get the fullest picture. No matter what, you'll find some scare-tactics on both sides (all vaxes are the culprits that cause autism, don't get vaxes and you'll die, etc.). It's hard to get good, unbiased information from one sourse with as charged of an issue as this is.

When reading, regardless of which side, ask yourself if what you're reading has merit or if it seems more like fear-mongering. Don't hesitate to look up information on a disorder to see what is verifiable or to pause and consider the realistic chance of getting some disease that really might actually be very mild even if contracted.

Try to avoid websites that are full of people throwing in their 2c without thinking about what they're saying and making outragous claims they aren't willing to back up with anything but opinion pieces ("People who don't vax are just selfish and are putting everyone else at risk!" "People who vax are killing their kids and making diseases resistent!").

Thing is, vaxes HAVE done some good, but too much of a good thing becomes a problem. So it's hard for there to be one right choice for everyone. It's not fair to say someone should put their child in any risk, no matter how small (and all drugs, not just vaxes, but Tylenol, aspirin, etc., have risks), for the potential sake of someone who can't get vaxes (I can't get vaxes, and would NEVER claim someone was selfish for not putting their child in even miniscule risk for my sake - THAT would be selfish). just like it's not fair to say that people who vax are trying to hurt anyone. You need to think about what is the best for YOU and YOUR child, to hell with the nay-sayers who think you should put others ahead of your own.
