I love the smell of the essential oils that the yoga teachers wear or use in their classes. I know I should just ask them what it is but I don't. I'm looking for something kind of light without much patchouli. Anyone have any favorite natural perfumes/oils that they can suggest?

I bought this one at Whole foods but can't handle it. Don't know what I was thinking.
I tried a musky scent last week but my DH said it smelled cheap and horrible. DS liked it!! Anyways, I guess I'm looking to see if anyone knows of any blends like the Triloka but that don't smell cheap and that are not overwhelming. Maybe I should try the rose geranium suggested in the other thread.

I think creating good blends for the scent alone takes quite a bit of skill and practice. I tend to stick to commercially prepared items for scent alone just for this reason. I use my EOs for therapeutic purposes mostly and single oils for scent. I want to sniff rose geranium to see if I like it. I have an itty bitty vial of a blend (palmarosa, rose otto or attar - I forget which and it is upstairs - and another EO) that smells DIVINE and lasts a good amount of time. It is intended for chakra work on the heart chakra, which I was working on last Fall/Winter. Oh.......I loved everything about that!!!!

I like the scents from here. www.blackphoenixalchemylab.com
You can get a small sample vial "imp's ears" for $3, if I recall correctly. There is also a forum with loads of discussions of each scent, so you can better decide if one is for you or not. And also, a swap board for imp's ears, if you have tried one and it's not to your taste.

Thanks for the info. Wow-there are so many scents. I checked out the forums but still not sure what to order.

Also, there's the search function. If you know some particular things you do want in the scent, search for it and it should bring up all the scents that contain that ingredient.

do you have a health food store near you? or a place that sells e.o's? i would go there and smell until i found a couple i liked together and get them. if you blend them with almond oil or jojoba oil you can use them as a perfume. with most e.o's you need to dilute them. not use them neat on your skin.
i do alot of blending with e.o's and that how i got started.
