So, after my third early loss my midwife is suggesting that I transfer care, but she is thinking straight to an RE. She said that with my history of low levels of progesterone early in pregnancy and post-partum thyroiditis that I would be best served by just being seen by an RE from the get go. I have not been in the care of an OB since college days, CNM's since DD's pregnancy. I am also late for my annual. Thoughts here? Will I even find an RE that will see me straight from the care of a CNM like that? She is thinking I need a month of having my hormone levels checked on a regular schedule, like every 3 to 5 days. Her confusion came about how my HCG levels were so very quickly back to nearly zero following my chemical pregnancy, she couldn't figure out how I had a positive test on Friday, started bleeding on Sunday, and by Tuesday had an HCG of 1.

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.
OB vs. RE

Definately go to an RE. I've never heard of one that required transfer of care from an OB. RE's only see you until you get pregnant and usually for the first month or two. I'm so sorry you're having to go through all of this. An RE's office is definately the one best equipped for any monitoring and testing that you require.
