I've only really sprouted mung beans, (and garden seeds), but I think mostly its all the same, just the time may vary.
You soak the beans in a LOT of water for 8-12 hours. (they grow like crazy during this phase. I'd say mung beans maybe... quadruple in size? you want enough water that they will still be submerged after quadrupling in size or more. I soak about 1 inch in a mason jar, and fill it with 4 or more inches over the level of the beans.)
You then drain the beans (they sell special screens for mason jars so you can do this easy, but you can dump them into a strainer or colander depending on size, just fine). Rinse them, and pop them back into the container. Rinse them 2-3 times a day until they're ready. (depending on how much of a sprout you want, you may have to put them in something which gives them more room or something I don't know. I like my mung beans just sprouted enough to be a vegetable, but not with a sprout really.
