So Disney is officially kicking off the holiday movie season with A Christmas Carol on Nov 6th! I went to the train tour last month, which was pretty cool, and trailer in 3D looks awesome. I'm pretty excited to see it....What about you guys?

I'm excited to see it! I'd like to wait until December, though, so hopefully it'll still be in the theaters then.

I'm glad you liked the train tour. My company is the one that helps to put that on. So...thanks!

My good friend saw ACC at the premiere earlier in the month and she said she wouldn't take a kid under 10. (She has a 6 y.o. DD.) Just FYI!

Monarchgrrl: Oh, that's neat! Yes, very good job - I thought that the train tour was such a great promotion and really fun.

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing it in IMAX 3D. It should add to the experience of Scrooge traveling through time. I love Jim Carrey too - I think he's perfect for this role!

BTW - if any of your kids (or even you) are in Facebook and are a fan of the movie, you can send some pretty funny e-cards with Scrooge on it

...Oh. Sorry to be all Scrooge, but I thought the trailer looked rubbish.

Bah humbug!

Just Kidding I thought the trailer was pretty funny, but I saw a different version that gave it a more serious tone, and very much like the book I remember. So I'm thinking the movie is going to be equal parts fun and equal parts serious - which makes for a good holiday film, I think. SO excited for Friday!!

Me and the little went to see this. We didn't make it to IMAX, but we did see it in 3D.

RE: taking a child. It really depends on your child. There are some kind of dark parts where even I was going . I would say, if they can handle Harry Potter then they can handle Scrooge.
It spawned alot of death and being good (paying it forward) discussions for us.

It was good. We liked it. I think it would've been better in IMAX...for the flying parts, but 3D was good.

I thought the movie looked AMAZING - the special effects and 3D were unbelievable....and Jim Carrey was so great as Scrooge, as well as the Christmas Past, Present & Future. And yea, the message it brings is definitely one of the reasons why this is one of my favorite Christmas stories. Never get tired of it...I give it a

Yeah, ITA! Jim Carrey was excellent!!

My kids want to see it, and I'm inclined to oblige since it's not a story I really love (Polar Express is my favorite holiday book, and the movie was AWFUL . . . wish I'd never seen it).

I think we'd all like it better in IMAX, and we haven't done an IMAX move in awhile. Ronin will be thrilled with the 3D -- he talked about the "pop outs" in Ice Age 3 for ages after we saw it!

this movie looks very well made, a feel good holiday film.

My daughter, 10, really liked it. I think my 6 year old did as well.

So your 6 yo did okay with it? I'm thinking of going tomorrow. My older two are 11 and 9. My youngest is only 5.5 though, but he has seen all the Harry Potter movies, well, except #6. So I'm hoping he'll be okay.

My 6 year old actually liked it and watched the whole thing, from what I could tell. I took her to see Coraline when she was 5, and she got bored and started running around in the theater. She wasn't scared more than she wanted to be--she kind of likes spooky things, and there was some of that in this movie. If your child is scared easily, it might not be a good idea.

I'm not particularly strict about what I allow them to watch, however.

My kids are 5 and 7.5. My dad took them to see it this weekend. They loved it and want to see it again! They do like the spooky stuff, though. Just like their Mama.

my 7 year old really enjoyed it too.

however she saw coraline on dvd a few months ago and was really freaked out.

I can't get past Jim Carrey being in it. I can't stand his acting.
