GOOD LORD that is disgusting!

THEN they take the most disgusting taste on the planet and try to mix it with CINNAMON? it really only makes it worse! Its like spraying a flower scent into a pig house.. its just rose-scented s#$%!!

HOW do you eat COD LIVER OIL!?

I think the first thing that shocked me was- ITS NOT OIL! its more similar to a brown lard, i'd say. Some sort of disgusting lacquer, it must be a joke right?

Okay, fine, suck it up, B, hold your nose, and just take it. :Puke and now.. 5 hours later-- i STILL taste it. and my stomach STILL is upset.

Please tell me there is a secret. I would rather inject it into me with a syringe! and i HATE needles

its the BI fermented cod liver oil/butter oil, cinnamon flavored (what was it thinking??)

I am soooo never trying the fermented stuff. This is all I've heard about it. We take regular CLO and I just mix it into yogurt or my veggie dip and it disappears.
So sorry, mama.

I'm using Carlson's CLO gelcaps. It has the A and D, and no taste at all - just swallow them down.

I made the mistake of buying the cinnamon too. When we take it, I add juice to the syringe and it muffles the taste until after it goes down. Decreases on the burn too. Next time I'm getting the plain and just going to shoot it with juice. GL!

Someone here also told me they mix the cinnamon CLO with honey and it tastes good but it just made me gag even worse than taking the plain CLO.

That's why I've not tried the fermented yet. When I do I'll be sure to avoid the cinnamon! Looking into capsules.... Anyone found a decent taste? Maybe mediterranean or rosemary or whatever it's called? Pre-fermentation I used to get the orange. Try holding your nose- I have to do that with the butter oil and it really helps.

I've been really wanting to try the fermented clo but am so afraid I'll barf! I'm 10 weeks pregnant so I would really be risking a drama! They do have the fermented in capsules, don't they? Does anyone know if they go down any better? Blech.

Cinnamon is our favorite! We all take it straight & the kids fight over who's first.

I like the cinnamon too! Well, I guess "like" is a strong word. It doesn't taste fishy too me, more hot or spicy I guess.

Try following it with a spoonful of peach or apricot jam.

Cinnamon didn't bother us either, my 4 y.o. kept trying to sneak it out of the frig for extra doses.

Someone suggested to me on an email list that you can make capsules with it. They don't store well... so you need to make them each time you're going to take them. But, just get some empty gel caps, and use the syringe that comes with the CLO to squirt into the smaller end of the capsule. Then, put the bigger end on, and swallow.

If you're taking a big dose, it could take a lot of capsules. Apparently it takes about 3 caps for 1/2 tsp. But... no barfing.

I did myself the kindness of buying premade capsules to last the rest of my pregnancy (and hopefully the first month after... but I'm realizing I need to take quite a few of them, more than the old capsules.)

I have some of the chocolate cream FCLO liquid, and I live in fear of opening it...

Even the smell of the fclo is horrendous for me - I got some on my hands last night and I could not wash off the smell, no matter how much I washed!! Fruit attack tastes NOTHING like fruit, that's for sure... I'm going to have to try it with sugar, or maple syrup... or return the bottles!

so this morning, i put a ball of it at the end of my spoon. then, i kind of laid it on my tongue, and took a LARGE gulp of juice. It worked well, went down like a pill. a nasty disgusting horribly textured pill, but still a pill.

i tried mixing it with milk and syrup :Puke .. the gel doesnt mix well, so it turned into a lumpy fishy and then milky shot full. it entered my mouth and immediately exited, with no help by me whatsoever.

i dont however know what i'll do for my little girl, she doesnt quite understand, "just swallow!"

is it true vitamin will not pass through my breastmilk? so me taking it wont help her much right? maybe she will just get used to it?

Yes, they do, this is what I take. I have the "Oslo orange" flavored capsules, which is the FCLO with some orange oil in it. It's really not too bad, just pop them in and swallow them down quick because the capsules are still pretty fragrant. I take BO capsules at the same time, and I notice for about an hour afterwards, whenever I burp it tastes like strong-ish cheese. Sometimes I'll eat some actual cheese after taking my vitamins so any burps can be attributed to this instead! If you want to take the FCLO capsules alone, maybe you could chase it with some orange juice?

I take the capsules and have not had a problem. Yes, they are more expensive, but it's just me taking them and I want to make sure I actually take it. I take them with food (at the same time as a handful of other supplements) and have never had a problem with fishy burps. I have had a bit of aftertaste when I've taken them on an empty stomach.

I take the plain capsules and that seems to be the best for me! Just swallow them down as fast as possible and no FCLO flavor at all! WOO!

Just give it a try, some kids tend to like it way better than adults, something to do with how much growing kids crave fats I suppose. Plus my DS has this thing for taking medicine and stuff like it, and learning about it too, my little herbalist apprentice.

We haven't gotten the FCLO/BO combo yet...still working on leftover HVCLO we have on hand. Our family has always liked the Cinnamon flavor.

A couple of suggestions -

My mom has the FCLO/BO Cinnamon gel and has tried it both as a gel and when it was liquid (like if she leaves it out on the counter). She much prefers it as a liquid. Maybe try it that way?

Take it at night...before you go to bed. I used to do this and any fish-y burps or aftertaste would occur at night when I wouldn't notice.
