This is the site where I learned how to felt from:
http://www.mielkesfarm.com/felt_soap.htm I dont have a wet felting board to scrub the soap on so I used bubble wrap (another tip I got from another site). Also I dont use any excess dish soap (the soap creates enough bubbles). Have fun!!

How pretty! There's an issue of Family Fun magazine that has instructions that use a nylon stocking. Wrap the soap in the wool, stick it in a stocking to hold it tightly together, warm water, suds, warm water, suds.

Someone please tell me wool batting isn't expensive.

Actually I bought mine off of etsy for really cheap I got 10 colors for 9 bucks I think.....I also had bought some really nice cream colored wool ( a huge thing ) for like 3 bucks. PM me if you would like me to tell you the shops I got my wool from on etsy. (Oh I also got a needle felting kit - foam block plus some needles from etsy too!! for pretty cheap)

Neat! So is the idea that it's a scrubby and soap in one? Is it just for hands or use all over in the shower too? Has anyone ever used one of these? I would be worried that they would get stinky since they can't be properly rinsed out and hung to dry between uses.

I was nervous about this too because I live in a very damp coastal climate. We only made ours 5 days ago... we put one in the tub which dries just fine overnight. No smells or dampness or mildew. The one we use for hands stays damp and also doesnt have any problems. The soap is getting a little soft inside though! I should have used a harder soap. When you rinse your hands you can just run the water quickly over the outside of the bar and it seems to rinse the wool pretty clean. I probably wont keep one for hands because I don't know if it holds germies or not. The boys love it though and spend ten times longer washing thier hands.
