Normal for supply to dip during a cold?

I think I read on Kellymom that this could be the case, but wanted to see if others have experienced this too. I have had a cold for almost a week now (it almost went away Tues and Wed but then came back) and I have seen a drop in how much I've been pumping when I pump once a day (from 4-5 oz. to 2.5-3), and baby seems hungrier too, feeding more at night and so forth. Is it normal for supply to drop temporarily if you are sick? I've been taking some fenugreek and blessed thistle for a little boost since yesterday. Other than that and drinking lots of liquids, should I just wait it out and trust that supply will rebound once I am well?

ETA: I am not taking any decongestants or any type of cold medicine -- have had nothing other than acetaminophin or ibuprofen.

Yes - I've been battling a cold for the past 8 days and definitely noticed a dip. I'm just making sure I rest when I can and am drinking plenty of liquids. It should bounce back. Hope you feel better soon.

I had a cold last week along with the kids and definitely noticed a difference in my milk supply - it's back to normal now that I'm much better

Yup.. rest and liquids

Increasing the liquids helped me out a lot. Not only in terms of keeping up supply, but it helps keep the mucus from building up too much. It almost seemed like I didn't really have a cold because I never became really very stuffy while everyone else in the house suffered a week or more.

Yep, happens to me too and rebounds quickly when feeling better and get my appetite back.
