I'm not nursing, but one of my earliest signs (noticed in retrospect) was weird sensitivity in my right nipple.

My left nipple is definitely more sensitive than my right when I nurse dd. Just one of those Wonderful Mysteries....

I was curious to see if anyone wasn't really experiencing breast changes while nursing during pregnancy? I have no pain or changes in size. I'm only a little over 6 weeks. I thought I'd at least be sore?? Supply hasn't gone down either.

I'm 7 weeks, and have noticed no breast changes or supply changes, either. We're moving to one nursing session a day because I'm starting anti-nausea meds and I want to pass as little as possible to DD. She doesn't seem too upset about it...had to happen sooner or later, right?

9.5 weeks here and have recently noticed that dd has to work harder to nurse. She really has to pull and then there is a very distinct letdown. I haven't noticed a letdown since she was a newborn. I've just always had plenty of milk from the moment she starts nursing. Now, she has to work for that letdown. I think it's the beginning of the end of my supply. She is not letting up, though. If anything, she is nursing more to make up for the lessening supply!

I nursed my daughter for the first 6 months of my second pregnancy, until she was exactly 2. Then it started to feel very physically uncomfortable to nurse her. Since she was mostly just nursing at night, I just started sleeping in another room (she still co-slept with daddy on the firm bed and I moved to the guest room with very comfy bed, which was great when I was 6-9 months). Since my breasts weren't near her at night, she didn't seem to miss it. After a month, she asked during the day to nurse and I let her but she has forgotten how and that was that.

I really did want to do self-led weaning with her, and wish things could have gone that way. But it seems to have turned out fine. And I did child-led weaning with my son, who stopped nursing completely sometime over this past summer (the frequency just got less and less until one week I realized he hadn't asked in days). It was very natural and easy. He was 2.5. I hope to do the same with this 3rd one. On a cute note, when my son catches sight of my "foondies", he'll say "I love your foondies" and always wants to say hi to them. So he still has some relationship with them and I expect that will change when the new baby starts to use them.

I am still nursing my 19 month old round the clock! She ALWAYS nurses to sleep and nurses quite a bit for comfort. She is very sensitive and easily overwhelmed, so I'm glad she has nursing to help her feel more comfortable. I would be shocked if she weaned before this July baby comes. So we will probably be tandem nursing. Should be interesting. I am having trouble picturing her being willing to share!
