I was looking to see if there are any other breastfeeding moms out there with psoriasis. My baby is 3 weeks old and we've had a rough time with breastfeeding on one side. I think that I have psoriasis on the areola and a patch on the nipple.
I was diagnosed with Psoriasis since I was young. When I got pregnant, I noticed that one of my areolas became discolored in areas. I figured it was a few psoriasis patches.
My areola is still discolored and it is extremely painful when my DS latches on. Sometimes it lasts the entire feeding, sometimes it's just at the beginning. Sometimes it even hurts if anything brushes up against my breast.
I'm also tackling a bleb on that same nipple. We're working really hard at getting a good latch to try to help out.
Anyone with psoriasis have any of these same problems? Any ideas of things to help? Sometimes I dread when he wants to nurse, but I'm just trying to remain optimistic about it!
