what is traditional foods? Should I jump in?

Ok, I've read the westin price web site and see the sense in eating like they did 100 years ago, no chemicals preservatives, etc.
Here's some background- me and my dd love veggies, raw cooked, we all get excited about brussle sprouts, Dh and ds love meat and unfourtunately for them- I don't cook it that often- I think this needs to change because Dh has cancer and his nutritionist says he needs more healthy fats and protein and I know that my little boy needs more protein than he is getting also. So, no more vegan meals- now we have to start eating meat.

So is traditional foods, just kind of eating whole foods, unprocessed, healthy meats and fats, along with certain fermented foods (um, I don't think me dh will eat aything fermented unless it's beer). Can I make everyone happy and healthy on this kind of a diet? Am I missing the point? Any ideas how and Why to start this type of eating?

Check out the sticky's at the top of the forum:

What are traditional foods?

THE 'How to start TF' Thread

TF cookbooks

I feel so much healthier since eating in a more TF manner. I'd recommend it to anyone! Benefits off the top of my head: much better immune system, weight loss, feel and look much better, more endurance and energy. That really just scratches the surface--I'm sure others have more to say--and there is probably lots of info in the above threads.

HTH!

I would say see if your library has Nourishing Traditions, or buy a copy to have. It's full of lots of good info and recipes.

Do get your husband started drinking Kombucha.
Naturally, the evidence is anecdotal, but many patients have seen their cancer reverse upon making Kombucha a daily drink.
No promises of course, but if you do not try, you will never know
We have seen this happen with a close friend.

It's the easiest to go for. FWIW, we do more traditional-a-la Nina Planck of "Real Food". Some here would say that's not TF. Oh, well. There are tons of healthy fats in it and I like it!
