Lots of shopping today -- color pencils for homeschooling, a birthday gift, a new baby gift, umbrellas for the kids. The umbrellas were a splurge. I had promised them to the kids ages ago and now that it is raining, raining, raining, they asked me to make good on my promise.

And now I need to reign it in. I know it looks like I spent a lot of money, but really....I could spend a lot more.

Tonight is going to be HARD. My oldest three kids go on a visit for the weekend to their bio-dad. I get really really down on visit nights and I usually end up ordering in food when I feel so down. It's going to take all of my willpower to NOT order in, NOT walk to the store and to stay on track!

I was SO proud of myself today. I woke up feeling like we should go do something -- walk to Starbucks, go to the museum, etc., even though we're taking DS to Trainfest tomorrow and that's gonna be pricey enough. But instead we hung out outside (it was really nice out) -- the neighbors were out so DS got to run around with the kids and we got some work done. And then I vacuumed most of the inside of the house, which needed to be done, so I got that sense of accomplishment.

I did go grocery shopping and spent a lot, but I stuck to my list, and stocked up on a sale on boneless skinless chicken breasts (organic/natural breasts normally $5.99/lb on sale for $3.99/lb).

One thing I'm SUPER bummed about is that I missed getting two free tickets to Trainfest. Someone I know e-mailed a bunch of friends including me last night offering them up, but I didn't see the e-mail until this afternoon, and I was too late. It's going to cost us $22 to get in, so that would have been so great! Oh, well.

Oh, crumbs. Our stove/oven is on the fritz. I ordered a part to fix it for $150 and also spent $26 on a consumer reports subscription so I could start researching new ranges online. If this part doesn't fix the problem, we can get some of our money back and then look into getting a new range.

yesterday- fail. went to target and planned to spend extra, lol- girls picked up a gift for a friend's birthday, and something for themselves with a gift card from their gma, I bought things on my list, and I planned to hit the snack bar afterward with the girls since we rarely do that. I was ok with that. but then I forgot about a friend's get together- ended up getting dinner at mcd's on the way, plus a bottle of wine we were supposed to bring but forgot about. oh, and I bought gas.

I did have a no-spend today though.
