UC plan changed

Well, I had been planning another UC (#3), but I had to change my plan. Dh was suddenly notified that he is getting deployed and I am not comfortable birthing with no support person. So, the midwife I have been seeing will now be attending the birth. I loved my UCs, but I am also happy with the midwife I chose. She is pro-UC and will respect what ever I chose for my birth. I also get to have my mother there and I know that she won't feel too happy without a midwife attending. So I get to have two wonderful ladies at this birth that I know will support me as much as I need. Which is what I need while my dh is gone.

I'm sorry your dh will be away and you have to change your birth plans How long will he be away?

It's so nice that you have a midwife you trust to be there.

He is supposed to be gone for 12 months. I cried the first few weeks after finding out that he was going to be gone when this baby is due. But I am glad that I now have two wonderful ladies helping me get thru it.

I SO respect yours and your dh's choices... praying for peace and safety for your entire family through this. (And if my dh couldn't be here, I'd be doing the same thing you are)

Julie - that must be so hard on both of you. I'm glad you found a good compromise w/ your mw, but still so sorry your DH can't be there for you.

Thank you. I am feeling better as time goes on and things start falling into place. I am still viewing my birth as an Unhindered birth and plan to treat things the same as with my other UCs. I like being in charge of my births and feel like I can still have that with this one even with the midwife there since she is very respectful of my wishes.

Sorry your dh has to be away.

I'm so happy for you that you have found an acceptable alternative solution.

I'm so sorry mama, that your DH will be gone...that you don't get the birth you had planned on, all of it....

But it sounds like your mother will be a positive support person for you and like you really like your MW and I'm really glad for those things....blessed, blessed birth to you and I hope your DH gets home safely and quickly!!
