Help me fix my shoes...

I have a pair of closed-toe slip-on shoes from Clarks (I think the style is a "mule"????) Anyway.... they came with a thin piece of fabric adhered to the insole? sock liner? Basically where the bottom/sole of my foot lines up against the shoe.

The thin fabric has detached from the shoe itself and now is bunching up. Both shoes have this problem. I can't really tell how that fabric was attached- if I had to guess, I would think that the edges of this fabric had been glued around the edges of the insole. Is there anyway I can reattach it?? If not, can a professional fix it?

Ummmm.... and are there still even professionals who do this sort of thing?

It's really irritating because I just bought these shoes last fall and I paid a lot for them!!!! Plus, the bunched-up-fabric really hurts my feet! Thanks!

There are still shoe repair places but they are getting harder to find. Sometimes dry cleaners do repairs and some better shoe stores will also do repairs.

I've fixed loose liners like that with fabric glue or you can get an insole and either put it in on top of the loose liner or pull the liner out completely and replace it with the insole.

Yeah, you can just pull out that fabric completely, you don't need it. I've done it on most of my shoes and its usually just lightly glued down and easy to pull off. You can wear it without it, or buy replacements. The reason why I pulled it off all my shoes is because I used to wear something to support the arches on my feet because one of my foot's arches is really low, but my chiropractor suggested not to wear any arch support because I have mild scoliosis and my arch lowered on my foot in order to compensate for the unevenness in my spine. Anyway, so I don't have that piece of fabric on most of my shoes, and its fine with me. Its not quite as soft, but that is ok.
