EC and sore arms--advice?

I started EC when my son was 2 weeks old and he's now 2 1/2 months and doing great--he often goes a week to 10 days without pooping in a single diaper! We have success with most of the pees, but they're more hit or miss. The issue is, my arms are so sore from holding him over the sink (by the legs) that I've developed numbness in my hands. I asked my massage therapist and she said I have tennis elbow and the beginnings of carpal tunnel. He's a big boy--14 1/2 lbs and getting bigger by the second. Does anyone have advice you can offer?

Get a baby bjorn little potty (or something similiar) and put it on the counter next to your sink. You can support him on that (or even hold him as you have been, but use the potty to support some of his weight). Good luck--sorry you're having problems with your elbows/hands!

I usually tuck her diaper in between her butt and the edge of the sink and just rest her there. Or you can use the BBLP as PP suggested. We finally had to move to that because I cannot hold my 20lb girl while she takes her dear sweet time pooping.

I second the suggestion for the baby bjorn potty. My 3 month old can sit on it perfectly and I just hold him a little bit. Cold you also just sit backwards on the toilet with him? That's what I do and I rest some of his bum against me or the back of the seat.

I remember those days! BBLP on the counter works great! Sometimes in the early days I would just rest her on the potty, and she would still go in the sink, but any little break was good!

That's a great idea--for some reason I thought he would have to be older to use a potty, but now I realize I can just support him sitting up. I just ordered the BBLP and the BB Toilet Trainer--hopefully he'll take to at least one of them and give my arms a break. Thanks for your advice!!!

the bblp does work great but when you are where you don't have one I find that using the traditional hold with me sitting on the toilet (facing the tank) and resting baby against my tummy w/ her feet touching the seat really eliminates the weight that I am carrying.

I've never tried sitting with him on the toilet because I feel like his pee would go into the back of the toilet (or anywhere in a 3 ft radius) ;o) ...how does it work for boys?
