Birth Announcements Updated!

Hi Everybody!
Sorry for the radio silence -- being in the hospital with a baby trapped in the NICU is super busy and I got way behind on everything. Nate was released from baby jail Thursday (he was 100% healthy - in NICU only as a precaution) and we came home Friday.

Anyway, I *think* I have gotten all the birth announcements. But there have been a lot and I probably missed some.

Please please please check this thread and make sure it's accurate:

Please also check the spreadsheet:

If you have changes, updates, new pictures etc. it makes it 1000X easier for me if you post them as replies to the announcements thread (otherwise I have to keep on top of all the new posts and find all the updates. This wouldn't be so hard if I had had more than 20 hours of sleep total this week!)

Sleep deprivation aside, Nate is the most wonderful thing in the whole universe. I love being a mother even more than I thought I would. Life is good.

I think we can find it somewhere in our hearts to forgive you... are you kidding me!!! You had a c-section, and were in the NICU! Thanks so much for all the work you have done already, let alone worrying about getting it updated since you've had your baby. I love checking out the STATS chart. I'm sure we all understand if you don't update it at all, never mind when you've been at the hospital, having a baby! Enjoy your baby moon, Momma, and don't worry about us if you don't feel you have time. Give your little Nate kisses from all of us.

Thanks Jenny

I really underestimated how much this would knock me flat. It's a week since his birth today, and we've been home from the hospital since Friday night. I'm exhausted and can't seem to find the time to do much of anything. Breastfeeding isn't going well -- my milk is here but only barely...
and I think I keep trying to do too much because the pain isn't getting much better. My c-sec scar is healing, but on the inside everything is so sore and aches constantly.
Sorry to whine... I just feel like it's all catching up with me now.
Just trying to take everything 2 hours at a time. It will get better soon I hope!

It will get better, I promise. With my section, 2 weeks and 6 weeks were like magic numbers. At two weeks I finally felt like getting out of bed. I could roll over by myself, I could lift my little Eli, I could walk to the kitchen to feed myself. At six weeks I could walk up the stairs without holding my stomach in pain, I could laugh without crying. Don't worry, it takes time to heal. I guess my advice would be to take advantage of the chance you have to be waited upon and just love your little one.

As for the breastfeeding, have you contacted LLL or a LC? If not, you should. Even just to get some support so you know that you know you aren't alone. 6 weeks can be another magic number with breastfeeding. You know it's best for your little Nate (that's right, right?), especially this year with the scare of H1N1, so try to get some help, and know that it does get better. Just remember you are amazing, and it won't be long before you are looking back on this saying, "Whew, I'm glad that's over!"

Hey Spiral.. Sorry for the confusion but I was induced on the 27th and didn't have her until the 29th. Thanks for keeping this up to date!
