DOK - thinking of you!

I'm feeling exhausted these days. I need to do something to rejuvinate my energy. I think part of it is due to the catch up work I have been doing at night with only one computer. That will get fixed in time. Have to start doing more prioritizing (notice how I'm on MDC...that means you ladies are important!)

Yule cards - the list was updated? I guess I need to find out who else is on it! I have been conceptualizing all day...I'm not creative or artistic in this way but I thought I'd give it a try!

Updated list? Eeeep! I think I need a pm. I was brainstorming today at Target though, looking at the cool ornaments.

DoK- hope they find out what is going on and there's an easy fix!

window- who knew the andersen logo is supposed to be upside down? It was from the salvage yard so no packaging or anything and the nail plate was dinged up (it had been pulled out of a house) so the up/down thing wasn't obvious. I remember a story about a miner who shingled his cabin "backwards" and had a serious shock when the rainy season hit!

addition- I wish I had pics... camera is still MIA. The roof is done. We need to move the propane tanks and dryer vent then install the windows/door. Then siding and the shell will be done! Then wiring and an electrical inspection. Then interior walls and flooring. Then another inspection. We also have to update some of the "old" structure but once it's roughed in I'll be happy!

And organized. The thought of a whole room dedicated to the kids' stuff makes my heart go pitter pat. The irony of owning a house with 4 bedrooms and gobs of storage when we were child free and then owning a two room house with zero storage as a family of five +dog is staggering.

Calming thoughts would be good... I just spent the last 2hours in a total freak out. Lucas decided to make his carebear glow by hanging out of his bed (he has the ikea kura bed turned so it's a hi/low bed) towards the light. He apparently forgot our talks about the danger of the fan (even though it's not DIRECTLY over his bed)... and got himself whacked across the forehead! I paniced big time. I freaked out and shouted and yelled at the boys for being idiotic after we talked about it Of course this was all done while I was getting his head on ice and such... rather fail job of calming the poor kid down at first I must say Called the docs and they said come straight in, then called dh to tell him what was up... both of which calmed ME down so I could calm HIM down

It wasn't NEARLY as bad as it could have been.. the ends of the blade made contact with his forehead because of the way he went into it. If he'd have come up from underneath it we'd probably have a concussion at least if the full force of that fan hit his head The doc checked him out and had the nurse steri strip the cut and put a dressing over it. Got the whole head injury 'watch for' sheet and all that. He seems ok though, aside from the monster headache.

The fan, of course, was on high. When it's on high it sounds like the room is going to lift off.. srsly. DH is coming home as early as he can, and I am going to Big W and buying a pedestal fan while he removes the ceiling fan blades.

I think a posh iced coffee may be in order while I'm out as well.. strictly for medicinal purposes of course to soothe my frazzled nerves.

Please let us know how he's doing before you go to bed (that way I can read it when I wake up).

Cari, Oh no how scary! I am glad that your little one is going to be ok.

I remember when my DD was about 5, she climbed on top of their bunk beds, had her brother turn off the fan, she jumped over to it, then had him turn it on. Well, the blades (2 of them) broke off and she crashed to the floor. Boy I screamed that day!!

Oh my lordy! 'm glad he's ok (and that posh coffee drinks are available). I remember the mythbuster segment where they did ceiling fans... it gave me some real peace of mind since I just knew I'd be at an ER one day thanks to a fan.

Thanks mamas.. he seems fine. He's all steri stripped up and I'm attempting to keep him calm and quiet .. HA, as if. But I don't think we'll have to make any rushed ER visits thank goddess. I never went out yesterday... I spent the day fuming cause DH left with all the cash. He "forgot" about my plans... This caused a crisis when he came home last night...

I joined (free) nutrimirror.com to keep track of what I eat. It's a little time consuming but I think it'll be worth it. Plus, they have a food log that I can print out (for when I'm away from the computer.)

I went to a nutritionist yesterday. She gave me an easy to follow list of foods (and portions) I can eat. She even came up with a same menu.
She wants me to keep a food log and show it to her at my next appt (in January). We set a weight loss goal of 1 lb per week. I need to lose so much weight, it'll take me more than a year to lose all the weight. Daunting.

I'm thinking of making a beaded bracelet that I can charge with all the positive energy I need. I'd wear it every day as a reminder to stay on course.

I have to go grocery shopping today to buy healthy foods. I can't stand shopping. Especially with ds who acts out at the grocery store. Ugh. (I don't have a choice but to take him with me.)

Cari- goodness gracious, are the kids trying to cause us white hairs? *hugs* how is Lucas today? Hope the posh coffee helped to calm your nerves. I know mine we are off on Saturday, a full day after the incident.

DOK- Don't focus on the year, try to go day by day. I totally fell off the wagon- I haven't gained but I haven't lost in over 6 months. I lose a few pounds here and there, especially when I give up pop/soda. I love my pop, even more than chocolate.

Clay- My Dad did that. He realized almost immediately but still, he didn't find it funny (we did). Glad the rough part is almost done.

Yule list just went out today, sorry for the delay. Got home later than expected last night.

Yeah pretty much. Fans won't spin you around the room or cut your hand off, and a washing machine won't catch you and spin you to your death either.

We adore the Mythbusters LOL Even my 8 yr old gets excited about all their experiments.

Morning mamas. It was a wild time here last night. My DS is going through a negative stage in life, where everything stinks. Mainly he thinks he stinks. Well, DH had had enough on their ride home and when they came in they both went to their rooms. No supper, no good night, just closed doors. I can't take silence. I tried to get DS to come down for supper, but he wasn't talking. DH, just doesn't know what to do.. I tried to get them to talk, you know not go to bed angry, hurt, but they wanted to be alone. I hate it when I can't help!

dok - Good luck! I think the bracelet is a great idea!

Aeress - I hear ya on the soda thing. I am addicted. I want to quit them but it's so hard. Like you said - harder than chocolate or sugar. I'm not a coffee drinker at all. I always joke with dh and say that my soda is my "mood stabilizer".

redveg - Hope your ds and dh are able to work things out soon! The teenage years are such a rough time. Rough for all parties involved I think!

Well, all this talk about Mythbusters reminded me of a question I'd like to ask you all about Myth in general. But it will have to wait till I can be in on the discussion. We're leaving today for a two day drive out of state to visit my family.

i think i got over the pop thing while on the gestational diabetes diet. i gotta be careful though. if i dont stick to a low sugar/low carb diet my body will get addicted again. i live for chocolate milk though. so i quit buying it and the mix to make it.

my NB is now 7 weeks old. so exciting. she has started making sounds and smiling at me. loving it! now to just get DD1 to stop peeing on the floor. lol.

maia- so excited for you. hope you have fun!

going to set up the tree tonight i think. told DH i would like to enjoy it for longer than a week, so we are getting on it this year. also got to plan DSDs bday party. her bday is dec 12th.

i like to keep things simple. few presents, more about the joy of the season. i would like to incorporate some teachings this year. i like Clay's post about turning inward and outward with the stuff she does. i am going to start teaching DSD and DD about it. they are old enough i think. the stuff we do for family at this time, and the stuff we do at home. i just need to explain it so it connects for them. right now it is stuff we just do. it doesnt really connect for them the why and how it relates to this time of year.

forgot to add- my whole family loves MythBusters. esp the explosions. DSD esp loves seeing their experiments. the ceiling fan one was cool. in order to do any damage they had to use a bigger motor and sharp metal blades. there is just not enough force behind the regular motor to do serious damage. you can not cut your head off.

So cool about the herb class! & True Blood books; the books are reffered to as the Sookie Stackhouse series, author Charlaine Harris. If you go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sookie_Stackhouse and scroll down to the bibliography you get the book title order. I read all ten books in 9-10 days in August, literally. And yes the books are even hotter than the series. lol.

I started carrying around a rose quartz in my pocket in October when things were rough- it's helped and I'm sure if you made a bracelet it would help you too BTW I can't stand grocery shopping either.

Clay- i hope your camera comes out of hiding soon. When I want my girls to pick up ( esp when they were younger like yours) I'd ask them to pick up 5 things, then a little later I'd ask for 5 more. Or I'd just have to jump in and help them. On the Big Comfy Couch didn't they do the "10 second tidy"? We'd do that too.

Oh my goodness, I'm so excited. Normally, I don't get caught up in after thanksgiving sales but I think my own is exciting. LOL. I'm hoping to get a couple books that have educational facts at the end. Fun and educational- yippee! And the good thing is, I don't have to go out in the crowds for it.

I have a bunch of dvd's that I've decided to give away. Would it be weird to offer a free dvd to all my customers who place an order this weekend? (the dvd's are not new.)

mythbusters- awesome show. And the combined list of films/projects the team members have worked on is seriously impressive. They make home experiment kits too.

weight loss- maybe make a bead strand with one bead per pound and take a bead off each week (regardless of actual weight lost)? Or do the reverse and add a bead for each pound lost? That way you have a constant reminder that is also a thing of beauty (just like you).

babies- I'm loving 3mo Tor! Ok, I've always loved him, but he is really turning up the charm.

sleep- last night was hell. Just pure misery. DD1 is a violent sleeper who takes up a lpot of space and sleeps through a lot. DD2 is a light sleeper. Recently dd1 has been beating on dd2 in her sleep. So dd2 climbs out of their sibling bed and into ours (where she snuggles with dh in part to keep her away from ds). But dd1 hates sleeping alone (of course!) and gets upset that dd2 has left. so we rearranged the beds thinking that maybe I'd share the double with Tor and the girls would sleep with dh on the queen.

Well, dd1 was livid that she now had a "limit" on her bed takeover (dh is to big for her to push out of the way) so she kept waking up screaming mad (literally). She cried, screamed, stomped, kicked, for hours. Which woke dd2 who started crying because she was worried about dd1 and then ds joined in since obviously if his big sibs were crying then there must be a reason.

At one point dd1 hyperventilated so much (because dh wouldn't let her kick dd2) that she got light headed and fell over. And later with all three kiddos wailing (around 3am) DH and I just sat on the floor and laughed because the situation was so ridiculous. Not sure what tonight will be like but OMG there had better be some sleep happening!

NON DAIRY yum- there's a coconut "ice cream" that is pricy but oh so yummy. And a brand of "cheese" that melts (heart's best? follow your heart? something about hearts )

I am beside myself. Yesterday, I got really abjectly terrified. Today in the morning I was having doubt upon doubt. Now I'm utterly sure again. What is with me??? And then my mom goes and sends me all these warnings. Like not to reveal any financial information and make sure he gets tested for STDs, and condoms don't really protect against STDs or pregnancy (say what? since when?) and she wants all the information, like his address and phone and everybody's who is taking care of DS while I'm gone.

I am feeling panicky. I had a not-so-good day anyway, except for the awesome phone calls I've been having with M-- he is as excited and scared as I am, and can't wait to see me

BUT. I was having a panicky day and I emailed him at work and asked if he'd call me at lunch, and he didn't. And he knew I was supposed to call around 3, and he didn't answer. Now his phone's off

I have no idea what's going on, but I'm going to have to trust-- oh crap, I just realized he has a therapy appt. at 4. So that's why the phone's off. I feel like an idiot now

He will call me, I know he will, as soon as he's out. Now I feel bad that I've wasted a voicemail of his (they're $1.25 each and he never uses it and asked me not to, as well)

OMG mamas-- I am, I am beside myself. Ye Gods. I will find a moment to post from there, at some point, and let y'all know I'm alive and well
