La Bassine Birthing Pools, Awesome or Rip Off? - Page 2

Wonderful pool!!!!

I haven't ever used a La Bassine, but I can tell you that I don't know how it could have been any better than my $15 fishy pool. One thing I really loved about the fishy pool was that I could see through the sides. I was leaning over the side of the pool and I actually could see my baby's head emerge through the walls! I am 5'9 and it was plenty deep and has the inflated floor cushioning as well. I'll be breaking it out again this summer for my second HB.

We're looking at the la bassine, also, and are wondering how it fits 2. I remember the fishy pool being uncomfortable for both my hubby and I. I'm 5'3 and he's 6'1". We ended up with a larger diameter pool for our last birth, but wanting more depth this go around. And I remember really wanting VERY firm sides and handles.

Is it comfortable for two?

^ I haven't used mine for a birth yet but we just set it up when it came in the mail. DH and I got in and tried a bunch of positions and it seemed like we'd have plenty of room. I'm 5'8 and he is 5'11.

So we went for it and I am so excited because the pool just got here! Being 33 1/2 weeks and having my birthing pool is getting me very excited about the baby-also slightly crazy about nesting, lol.

For those of you who did go the Le Bassine route did you buy your accessories from the same site or did you get them else where? We opted to just get the pool and are trying to piece together the rest. So far finding the debris net, thermometer, and air pump have been no problem but we aren't really sure where to get the hose/adapter from.

I got their hose and adaptor and it works great. You can probably get one somewhere else for cheaper, but I just wanted it all to come together, because I'm 38 weeks and didn't want to mess around. We inflated it this morning and it looks great! I'm very excited.
