OMG I got my period already:(

Rita was 7 weeks on Saturday and I got my period. I am so surprised because I am ebfing and I did not get it back until DS was 14 months last time. (I didn't use any birth control during this time)

Anyone else? I am NOT happy about this as DH's big V won't be until the new year.

Not yet (Gavin's only 4 weeks old) but after Connor I stopped bleeding then started again the day before my 6 week post partum appt. I went in and told the dr and said "is this my period??" and he said "probably." I was so angry!!!

BUT...I didn't have another one until 9 months, so I still don'tknow if it was some sort of "breakthrough" period, or leftover post partum bleeding, or something else. Who knows???

I have heard that many Momma's seem to bleed around the 6 week PP, and then it goes away. It doesn't necessarily mean you have your period back. (or at least let's hope so!)

I got mine around 9 weeks, and then another two days of spotting around 11 weeks? Now that I'm relactating, I don't know what will happen, but I assume I'll still get it.

Maybe, maybe not. If you pump or nurse enough, your body might get the message and stop menstruating. If you do keep menstruating, I bet it'll be irregular though. Which is a pain!! I had a whole year of irregular periods when I got them back after Connor, it was frustrating!! Never knowing...

Mine came right back with DD1 despite ebf, and was regular right up until I got pregnant again. I felt ripped off. My midwife told me just to celebrate my super fertility.

I just got mine too. Our babies have the same birthday. I sort of expected it, I got it back at 6w pp with DD and around 12w with DS, but I'm still disappointed. I am definitely not a person who finds my period to be a glowy, spiritual time - I hate it. So bummed that AF showed up already.

Argh! I got mine today. I got it at 4 months postpartum last time, so I was hoping I'd get lucky this time. I don't understand it. I nursed nonstop for the first few weeks with both my boys, and am now nursing every 1-1.5 hours. I don't even get the 3-hour time span that everyone else seems to get. Why in the world did AF show up???

And, I'm sub-fertile!!! I don't even get to get pregnant quickly! Not that I ever want to get pregnant again, but I think an early return of cycles should at least coincide with good fertility.

I think mine came back at 5 weeks, which is par for the course for me. I thought nursing twins would buy me a little more time. Apparently no. We'll see if it comes back again next week but past history would say it will and be like clockwork no matter how much I nurse. None of my boys have so much as tasted formula.

Count me in...grrrr. w/DS, I ovulated at 6 weeks PP, period at 8. Two weeks ago (6 wks PP w/DD), I ovulated; woke up this AM, and, ta-da! grrrrrrr No wonder DD's been soooo fussy when nursing the past day. sigh...

Club-crashing here just to let you know I feel your pain. With all of my children, my periods returned 6-8 weeks after birth, regardless of the fact I was exclusively breastfeeding, co-sleeping, & not using a pacifier, etc. With my third, I was actually even pumping for a friend who had adopted a newborn two weeks younger than my son. It was enough that she was able to give him breast milk exclusively. I *thought* I would get lucky that time and not have it return for a while but nooooooo....8 weeks post-partum, there it was.

This is in comparison to my sister who has now gone for nearly 10 years with no period. She has to start weaning to ovulate again and has always gotten pregnant before her period returns!!! I felt totally jipped!

I'm glad to hear I am not alone. I'm now waiting to see if it comes again this month....
