Anyone else out there who has had a c-section before and is planning a VBAC this time? How are your scars doing? Mine is driving me nuts with painful itching--so annoying!

I'm having a HBAC

My scar is OK. But I have had a couple of pangs of round ligament pain already! Whats with that?!

I have found the most awesome supportive midwife. She has attended several hospital VBAC's but I'm her first HBAC.

I would love to have a VBAC!!! I am so overwhelmed just found out ten minutes ago we are pregnant YEAH!! Now I am freaking cuz the midwife i had announced to me at my last PAP that she is no longer delivering on Weekend and nights beginning to retire good for her uggh for me! Then her replacement asked me if I had gotten a flu shot yet this year......
I was all ready to try again with my loving midwife but I can't chance having a delivery with her replacement who clearly has completely different beliefs than me!!! I don't even know where to begin to look for a good midwife! I would love a home birth but I am not sure how Daddy will feel since I had a c-section....or if we could afford to pay for health insurance and a home birth PLEASE HELP with any info would be great!!

Oh & By the way hello to you all I am Nicole I have a 22 month old baby girl and I am due mid July or and we live in MI! And YES my Scar Itches!!

I am hoping to have another VBAC - had one with my daughter in 2007, with my midwife in our little local hospital, and it was amazing. Only problem is that now they have banned them in our little town, so I guess it is time to start fighting and try to somehow get an exception. I love our hospital - it is truly like a birth center and my midwife is too amazing for words. Anyone have advice on fighting this type of policy? There is no way this mama is scheduling a c-section - that is for sure!

Considering that you've already had one VBAC that should work to your advantage. You've already proven that you can delivery vaginally. Hopefully your midwife will support you in this.

Hi there,
My son was born by "emergency c-section" in Japan 2.5 years ago. My water started to leak and real labor didn't follow.Five days later after a slew of interventions , I had the c-section. I wish I had more access to info on midwifes and homebirth in Japan but it was hard to get info at that time. I am sure I would have had a slow but normal birth if I had been with a midwife. We are now expecting #2, Due mid July 2010. We are now living back in Canada. My name is on the waiting list at 3 different birthcenters but the supply vs demand is vastly out of proportion unfortunately. I really, really don't want to give birth in the hospital this time around. I am hoping to get a spot, my friend got in and I was lucky to be with her while she had her baby there last June. What a wonderful experience. The facility is amazing and the midwifes were out of this world. Good Luck to you all.

Vba2c

Hi Mamas~
I had a VBA2C in February of 2007, and of course will be having another one in July. . .
Great to meet you all!

I had a c-section with my first due to fetal distress. I called last week and found a midwife team that had space for me. They only do hospital VBACs. I'm on the wait list for the one midwife group that does HBACs in the area I'm in.

I am planning a HBA2C

Yes! My stillborn son was delivered via c-section and I definitely want a vbac this time. I would also love to do it at home but I may go for the added security of a hospital. We'll see.

My scar is also pretty itchy and the numbness really makes me crazy. I have no idea how the belly stretching will affect that yucky feeling.

I'm planning for an HBAC. dd was born via cesarean after she spontaneously turned footling breech at 40w.

we are using our same, spectacular midwife who took such wonderful care of us last time around. she was with us even in the the OR and did all our postnatal care in the hospital and at home. she is extremely confident in my ability to do a VBAC. i love her.

I'm having my second VBAC. My first was in October of 2008. I am planning an HBAC this time as well.

My scar is itchy sometimes and still numb on occasion. With my last pregnancy it wasn't unbearable so those of you having your first VBAC, don't fear too much.

After my son was born I had acupuncture treatments to help with the numbness that was around my scar especially on the left side. All of the sensation came back. So far I havn't noticed any strange feelings around the scar. Maybe as the baby and belly get bigger but we will see!
