My daughter is 13 weeks, and I've been EP-ing since early on due to my inverted nipples making a good latch really, really hard. Its been a rough road, first with my initial disappointment, and then sicknesses. I had mastitis 3 times, starting at 3 weeks going on and off until about 10 weeks. ( I think it was really one case that just never truly went away, so after weeks of first line oral antibiotics I finally went in and demanded the big guns, so after an IM injection of Rocephin and 5 days of Levaquin, it finally went away! Ugh! I'd rather give birth again, seriously..one bout I was down on the ground in agony) I'm not sure what actually caused the mastitis, it might have been that my pump shields were initially too small, or maybe I had recurrent thrush that led to it..not sure.
Through that I refused to give up because I want my baby to have the best start possible, but every time I got sick my supply went down. I faithfully pumped and/or hand expressed ( if pumping was impossible b/c of the pain) about every 4 hours, with a 6 hour stretch overnight. I'm up to about 25 oz a day, but my little one is eating at least 30 so I've supplemented just a little bit. Now that I finally feel better, Ive relaxed a bit and started the Motherlove capsules, and drink a few cups of Mothers Milk blend tea each day. Still, I want to quit supplementing so I ordered some Dom and am going to give it a try..only thing is I think I kind of got screwed on the deal and paid too much. I only ordered 100 pills, and from the dosing I'm reading, it will be gone in a flash. Where is the best deal, and in your experience, the out of country pharmacy that sends it the quickest?
The compounding pharmacy prices are ridiculous, I can't afford that. I know that would technically be the fastest way, but I cant swing it.
And one last question, once you started Dom, how soon did you see an improvement?
