I just read The Power of Pleasurable Childbirth by Laurie Morgan. I think that book has affected me more than any other book that I have ever read. I even had two significant dreams over the course of reading it that have brought me great insight into my coming birth. I am due in April and have been planning a HBAC with midwives. I had a very traumatic homebirth transfer and emergency c-section for my first 2 years ago (occult cord prolapse). I chose the same midwives again (the only midwives in my area) but have been drifting away from the idea of having an attended birth. I'm not sure that I can get my DH on-board, but he has implied to me that he will do whatever I want because all of my crazy hippy methods of raising our first son have worked out so well. I guess I just need to talk to him honestly about it.
I'm not totally sure why I wrote this, i guess just to talk about what a profound and honest book this is. I'd love to hear anyone else's thoughts!
