Is the Velcro on my Covers Supposed to Start Failing?

We've been using the same Imse Vimse covers for the past 14 months. We've noticed that the velcro just isn't holding as well anymore. DH says it seems like the centers of the velcro tabs are still ok, but the velcro around the edges is no good. Is this to be expected? Is there some way to "reinvigorate" the velcro?

I only have one Imse Vimse cover, but I have the same thing happening at literally the exact same time in its life span. I already had all of my pockets converted to snaps, but with these covers I was just thinking that I was going to have to replace them . I will be interested to see if anyone has a solution, sorry I am no help!

14 months seems a fairly good run for aplix closures.

You might be able to have someone sew on new aplix for you.

I like velcro on covers for the fit, but the lifespan for any velcro just won't be that long. They get a lot of use/abuse! I just sort of count on that after a year or two, I will probably have to replace the velcro. I haven't used imse vimse, but I have replaced the velcro on some of my other covers and pocket diapers.
