My mother will be watching our LO for us and I just got her on the CD-bandwagon after she was dead-set against it for a long time.
At first I was thinking of getting a stash of AIO's for her to make things easier since she's never used CDs and is still not 100% sold on the idea.... and then I went to a local store and the sales clerk showed me some Fuzzi Bunz, which is what she said she pre-stuffs and leaves for babysitters, family, etc. when her dd is under the care of someone oher than her or her DH. She had never used AIOs so could not really tell me pros and cons of each.... so what would you recommend?

I think for the care provider they will be the same as long as you pre-stuff them. From your perspective though I think pockets are better because they dry faster and you can stuff them more if you need to. The only question for me is snaps vs. velcro - snaps will last much longer but many people find velcro easier to put on.

I agree. Pockets all the way. I got the Happy Heiney one size and love them. DH doesn't mind using them as they are just as easy as disposable.
I have one set (about 20 diapers) and I have used them since dd was 3 months old and they are still near perfect condition and she is almost 17 months.

For the most part, i think both would be the same for ease of use for the caregiver. As long as you pre-stuff the pockets, it's all the same for your mom.
So, I'd go with whatever you prefer. Sometimes aio's don't have enough absorbancy built in to really do the job, or they take a really long time to dry. They are convenient, though! With pockets, you can customize your absorbancy, and they dry fast, but they can be a pain to stuff...
Congrats on getting your mom on board - how great that she'll watch your LO!

. leave it to him to be confused by an aio, lol! an aplix pocket pre-stuffed here is the easiest thing for him.

I have one AIO and I really do not like it. The fit is not very customizable so we end up with leaks, and the darn thing takes forever to dry. Also the soaker part doesn't hold nearly as much as a pocket insert would.
Maybe I just have a bad AIO, but just in general I think AIO is not a good concept for a diaper.
My only concern about the pockets for caregivers is that then you get the nasty job of going through the dirty diaper bag and unstuffing all the gross pockets. It's one thing to unstuff a freshly dirty pocket (too gross and annoying for me to do on a regular basis - I only use pockets overnight), but unstuffing a dirty pocket that's been ripening in the bag all day is something else altogether. *bleh*

I sent both with DD to daycare. Whatever was clean. DCP didn't find any difference in ease of use (a pre-stuffed pocket is basically an AIO from the putting-on perspective).
However, dcp did have a definite preference for aplix vs. snap fasteners. She'd use both, but always used the Aplix first
