Our 12 yo terrier has gotten himself quite the case of fleas. I'm horrified! In a panic, I ran to the grocery store and got the most expensive Hertz treatment and applied it -- only to realize I still had one more thing of frontline in my stash. The vet says I can't do anything for THREE WEEKS - and meanwhile, he still has fleas!
I dusted the carpets with flea powder (made for carpets) - the stuff is noxious, so I wasn't able to treat the whole house. It recommended 24 hours, I could only manage 2 hrs (kids coming home from school, baby in the house). Washed the bedding in hot (he sleeps in my dd's room) What else can I do??
I've given him a couple of non-flea shampoo baths too.
The numbers have decreased significantly, and no signs of fecal peppering on dear doggie, but I still see a handful hanging out in his "armpits".
We're in the NE, so I was hoping the cold weather would wipe them out, but the vet says as long as they have a warm body, they're here to stay...and now my dd has flea bites on her neck
Do we need to bomb the house??
HELP!
