Awesome anti-vax

Thread Starter
A few months ago my friend was really angry with me about just about ALL my parenting practices, because they were completely opposite of how she is going to parent (her non-existent children). Especially anti-vaxing...she told me that her children HAVE to vaxxed because they have to go to daycare.

The other day she asked me for information on reasons why parents choose not to vax, and the "PEER REVIEWED studies" involved 'they have to be peer reviewed!'. I tried to weed through the 1000's of 'peer reviewed' studies and ended up sending her a little of 100 of them. She then goodheartedly complained that she doesn't know what information to include because there is "SO MUCH".

Please share them here. I'd be very interested. Thanks.

I'm a little confused-- where was she going to "include" them?

I'm confused too Inlcude where? You could send her some easy to sift through links, that are backed by facts.

I dont bother doing stuff like that. If someone wants to find the studies they can take the time and find it themselves, like I did. If they want to go into it blindly then so be it. i cant save everyone's child from their parents.

All I do is tell people to reasearch and I will be happy to answer any specific questions on why I dont do it.

I don't know how long I could be friends with someone who took personal offense at my own parenting choices, especially if she were childless. Life's too short for that kind of nonsense. But I'm not very tolerant of needless drama.

Regardless, you don't owe her an explanation whatsoever. I don't see why you should let her put you on the defensive. Turn it around. Make her explain, with peer-reviewed studies ( ), what's wrong with your practices. If she can't lay off, give serious thought to distancing yourself. You don't have to put up with bullying from anyone, but especially not from someone who claims to be a friend.

Had to comment. I sent a friend some vax info-easy stuff to read and research herself, and asked her the same thing. Show Me, the studies saying the vaccines are 100% safe and convince Me to vaccinate. No reply on that one.

That said, I do have a few friends who do vax etc, and have asked me once or twice why we don't do it, but they don't hassle us, and we don't hassle them, so there's really no conflict and we remain friends. If you can come to that same sort of understanding w/ your friend, great. If not, might be time to distance yourself for awhile.
