Dec '07 Mamas--Mandatory Check-in! :-D

Seriously, you HAVE to check in. It's required by law. If you don't post an update, we'll take away your crunchy card and vaccinate your kids without your permission!

Okay.....kidding, sort of......but DANG, I miss you ladies, and I really REALLY need to hear how everyone's doing! That goes double for you pregnant and newly-post-partum mamas--we need a headcount! Our update: Bethany is 22.5 months, and I'm 23 weeks pregnant....due Feb/March!

Any birthday plans for our toddlers? I always do cakes for the kids, but I'm thinking about doing a gingerbread house for Bethy this year! I haven't done one in several years, and I LOVE them! I know the kids would think it the neatest thing EVER, so that's what I'm planning. I just need to figure out how to decorate it so that it clearly is in celebration of her birthday, not just holiday-looking, yk? Any ideas?

I love you all and miss you SO much; I REALLY hope everyone who can will check in and update! It has been such a crazy year for us...this pregnancy has been good so far (physically speaking) but has really turned us upside down! The kids are excited though, and I've found a midwife who seems really awesome so far. And looking at the tiny fleece pjs and buntings and so forth makes it very difficult to NOT get excited.

Now, off to go bump all our old threads so hopefully everyone will see this!

PS....I've found several of you on Facebook, and I'd love to find more of you--you can search for me by username "shebear" and I'll add you!

I'm going to sub & come back for a real update later.

I'm still in Major Adjustment Mode after our last family member joined us 22 days ago. Trying hard not to feel completely overwhelmed. Sometimes I succeed & sometimes I don't.

I'd love to hear some updates from my lovely old Dec07 ddc buddies!! Thanks so much for the thread SheBear!

Congratulations to both of you!! Wonder how many of us will consecutively post with new bumps or babies...

My little man is three months on Thursday. Man oh man, two under two is no joke. I too have to sub and come back, but here's some pictures

WTH????
Seriously?
You guys are having MORE kids already?
Have you lost your friggen minds?

LOL. I'm...barely treading water here, and waiting very impatientaly for ds to GROW up so I can have a semblance of a normal life back.
We just weaned, so the boobs are finally free.
This has facilitated sleeping through the night.

Ds really is just a holy terror. He has some language delays, so he SCREAMS a lot of the time, be cause it's his only means of communication, and it's getting pretty darn old, LOL. He likes to take off his diapers and poo on the floor. when he isn't destroying some part of the house.

We just pulled DD out of school, and are homeschooling. We just joined the Y and are starting swimming and gymnastics next week.

We had a great Halloween, and are looking forward to thanksgiving, Xmas, and Ds's birthday.

Congratulations, Aubrey!! I'm so happy for you....I was "stalking" you today via Aimee (on facebook). I knew you were expecting, but time has gone by so fast, I was completely blown away to hear you'd had him already! I need to see pictures, or I'll simply refuse to believe it!

Yes. Yes, I have. Undeniably!

Hope the weaning leads to good nights full of sleep for you SOON! Bethy hasn't nursed in over a month now....her idea initially (nursing strike when my milk started changing) but when she did start asking again, I just couldn't deal with it. Just couldn't....nursing while pregnant is pretty much how I envision hell--even though I've done it 3 times before!

She's done well with the transition, but of course there's no end to the guilt I feel, esp. with it happening right as we are going into cold/flu season. Ah well...it is what it is, and I'm just thankful that it wasn't traumatic for her! First break I've had from nursing in 7.5 years--I've decided that I need to enjoy it!

I'll come back and post some pics after I upload some.....so glad to see the updates! Can't wait to see more!

hi!!! i miss you all! i'm NOT pregnant, and i have no more babies. 3 is plenty for me, thank you very much. viano will certainly be our last. i'm in school full time, which is totally kicking my butt. i'm constantly internally debating whether or not to wean. viano is SOOOO into nursing and she screams BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOBIES the second i walk through the door and claws at me, and its really irritating. but, being our last, im having a hard time letting go. ive heard that 1-2 is a hard age for nursing, so maybe it'll get easier.

Hi!

We're all pretty good here. I'm newly pregnant and Holy Crap Exhausted! I'm due right around his half year bday.

I can't believe they're going to be two soon. It's crazy.

We found out in September that we were very unexpectedly expecting #2, due in June. Had some spotting a few weeks ago and decided to wean DS. Once he stopped nursing, the spotting stopped, only to come back a week later as full-on bleeding. Finaly got an ultrasound today that showed a 5-week fetus (I was going to be 10 weeks tomorrow).

Other than that, things have been busy and rough lately, DH working 60-70 hour weeks and me exhausted then on bedrest. I'm hoping after this m/c things will settle down and get back to normal again.

Praying for you, Sihaya! I hope you regain your strength and energy and footing soon!

Sihaya I'm so sorry to hear that.

I can't believe that our little ones are almost 2. Av acts like a two year old more and more.
We did have another baby as well... Seth is two weeks 1 day old. This is our last. DH was very very firm on that, and I'm finding it hard to juggle 3 kids, with the oldest barely being 3. But the girls absolutely adore their baby brother "Sef" (both can't pronounce the "th")
Congrats to all those expecting or who have just had their new little ones!!

I'm so sorry about the miscarriage, Sihaya.
I can't believe all the babies are almost two. Since Cyrus was born just a few days after Christmas, we did a big half-birthday pool party for him in June. I think we may keep up with that tradition, doing a small family celebration on his actual birthday and going all out on the half birthday.
I could not frickin imagine having a newborn right now. Oh good lord no. I actually just got an IUD. (To go along with my new boyfriend, this Chicago jazz composer I am utterly smitten with He's coming down here in a couple weeks and will be staying a few months.)
Cyrus is a pretty cool little kid. He's still really chill, very adaptable, very easy-going, very sweet-natured.
I'm actually dealing with some mildly scary medical stuff right now -- got some bad test results back from a pap smear, not the regular abnormal results but something more worrisome called atypical glandular cells. I'm waiting on the results of a colposcopy I got Friday. It might be as simple as another leep procedure, or it might mean a hysterectomy at the age of 30. Which would pretty much suck. If you had asked me last week, I would have said there was about a 75 percent chance that I wouldn't have any more kids. But whether or not that's the case, I'm kind of attached to my uterus and ovaries and I'd really prefer to keep them. Anyway. I'll let you know when I find out. I engaged in some awesome retail therapy this morning.

We're still here too! Rue will be 2 on December 22, and I miss all you ladies soooo much! Life is crazy!

I'm doing the single mom thing to my two girls (older dd is 6.5) and I'm working as an emerg/trauma nurse; lots of good fun.

Huge hugs to all those with losses, and big congrats to the growing families too! I'm ready for another one right NOW, but my gf wants to wait a bit.

sihaya

I have a 6 month old as well and just m/c in sept, was only about 5 weeks along.

my Dec 07 is good. She is finally starting to really talk. We are sorting out her food intolerances, gluten, dairy, soy, and egg so far. Possibly starting the GAPS diet soon. I will be losing my job at the end of the year. And.... yeah I guess that's everything here. Is that a satisfactory check in?
ok, I better update because I don't want anyone to take away my crunchy card lol.....I'm planning a homebirth!!!!

I can't believe ds is almost two years old. I look at him and am amazed compared with the little 5 lb baby I brought home from the hospital. This kid climbs everything (including my mother's furniture ), eats more than me (and I'm 4 months pregnant) and just this week I discovered that he somehow jumped from a size 6 to a size 8 shoe. Of course he always decides to grow when I'm totally broke.....

We don't celebrate Christmas or birthdays but I do a lot of shopping at holiday time because it's a great time to get deals, and then I wrap the stuff up and give it to him at various times throughout the year. My only problem is that I lvoe giving him presents so I can never wait to show him.

I got paid for a little job I did the other day and tonight I went to buy pullups and they had a diego tricycle on clearance....the last one in the store and I HAD to buy it. He has been saying "me ride bike, mommy" for at least two months. He wanted one SOOOO badly. I canNOT wait to see his face in the morning

No more nursing....he was away from me for a few weeks with my mom and I don't know whether it was a natural thing or she talked to him about it, but he has only nursed a handful of times since then and only very briefly. I'm really sad about weaning so early, and would love it if he would ask to nurse more, but it IS nice to be able to cosleep again and not have hands up my shirt all night!

The new baby is due in April and we are planning a homebirth. I'm not sure yet whether my bf will be able to be here for the birth but he is trying very hard, according to the counselor and judging from his letters (we had some issues mainly relating to ds and we are not together right now) and ds has also been asking for him a lot lately. He still refers to him as "firstname daddy" and I'm really hoping that with both of us in family counseling and working hard on our parenting, we'll get ourselves straightened out in time for this new baby's birth.

So, hopefully, good things on the horizon for the new year. A whole year with this new 2-year-old independent personality thing......egads.....

yup before we moved back in with my parents (thank god, because my mom would have had a stroke, she is VERY particular) I came ion the kitchen to find him sitting with the fridge dooe open, having poked through the foil top of a cup of yogurt and eating it with his hands.

what can I say? At SOME point I have to go poop and I prefer to do it alone. This is the price I pay.

Good medical news -- the doctor said everything came back clear. So that's a relief.
