DD sleeps on top of me

DD had been sleeping very well thru the night. 10pm to 6am, nurse then back to sleep for a hour or two. The past few weeks she been night waking and wanting to nurse or must be laying on top of me to sleep. She's never been a cuddler. I thought it was so cute at first but now it's exhausting. I can't sleep that way because I CAN'T MOVE!

If I try to lay her down and tell her to go to bed she will cry and cry till she can have some body part on me. Why is she feeling so insecure at night for?? She's almost 17 months old btw. We are moving so I haven't been spending as much time interacting with like usual. Could that be it??? I jsut want to sleep.
Anyone else go thru this?

I would guess the whole moving thing is affecting her. In my experience with 12 kids and having things interfere with mommy time I have definitely had things like this happen. And now, after all these kids I even can predict it!! My youngest now is 3 and she still nurses. Only at night pretty much and sometimes in the morning but if I have an unusual day where I am gone away from home or just being plain busy at home she will have what we call "meltdowns." She still sleeps with us and like you, she is all over me too. I guess I've learned to ignore it or something after so many co-sleepers because I rarely notice it now.

I have been waking up to a 33 pound 24 month old on my chest. He has somewhat night weaned and I haven't figured out a pattern. He is happy to be rolled next to me though, mostly. My back does not appreciate it though!

No ideas, but commiseration.

Hugs mama!!!

I hope no one gets offended by my posting here, as I have no children of my own yet, but I just wanted to share a similar situation that may explain what's going on:

I was a nanny to my two young cousins for a few months while my Uncle and Aunt were renovating their home. They were getting ready to move to an entirely new state.

My youngest cousin was 5 years old at the time, and as soon as his father, my uncle, announced that they were moving, he started "going #2" in his pants. A fully potty-trained 5 year old who had never had a problem soiling himself since he was potty trained suddenly started this problem. And it got BAD, to the point where we couldnt take him out ANYWHERE; restaurants, parks, grocery stores, any place, without him soiling himself. Even at home, he refused to go in the toilet, and I can not tell you how many poopy underpants he tried to stow and hide under his bed for fear of getting in trouble. We simply could NOT figure out why he was suddenly doing this, but after the move and everyone was settled in, he was fine and went back to normal!! I guess kids just have to develop their own coping mechanisms!

Hope this helps mama!
