Excellent utopia/distopia book. I also recommend it, although Hunger Games was better than the sequel imho.

I can't believe no one's mentioned Connie Willis! I love her female characters. They are strong and smart and wonderful. I especially like To Say Nothing of the Dog, but Doomsday Book and Bellweather are good, too. And her short stories have SO MANY wonderful women. AND men, yum. Nerdy heroes, yay!

The Doomsday Book is in my top 20! Excellent read.
