big day in our house :)

Charlotte had her first breastmilk poop in a l-o-n-g time

You guys are probably tired of hearing about it, but if I can't brag about my baby's poop here, where can I, right?

I'm at 3oz now, so that's an entire feed for her. (she often takes more than that, but she gets mad if I try to change bottles by that point in the game - it's easier to just call it a day!)(and I won't mix them, I like to make sure she gets every DROP of the breastmilk)

I might make my 4oz by saturday goal yet!!!! My right nipple is hurting this afternoon though, I hope that doesn't put a damper on things (what - is it catchy, Samantha?)

I'm not tired of hearing about it...I think this is fantastic that it is working out for you. Our bodies are amazing, you are persistant and should pat yourself on the back for doing this for your daughter!!

I hope not, because I'm still dealing with problems on my right side!!

And we're not tired of this at all, it's great!!!!

Maybe try lowering your pump setting, do you have an adjustable pump? Lower the suction for a few days. Also check the size of your pump horns, you might need bigger ones.

I had this problem and it took a lactation consultant to clue me in...looked like it was big enough for my nipple to me, but I was wrong. The new parts helped just wish I had known sooner as the damage had already been done.

I have horns in ALL sizes I switched to the bigger horn on that side for a day - but then I just switched back because I suddenly was getting a decreased output on that side. Yesterday was the FIRST day I stayed stagnant - at 3.5 ozs. But it looks like today is a new day......We'll see where I'm at by this evening. Still hoping for 4oz by tomorrow.

MADE MY GOAL! I was at 4.5 oz yesterday. Following my pattern, I'm going to look to get 8 oz (I could technically say 9, but even 8 seems pretty lofty, yk? ) by next Saturday. That's officially my new goal.

I forsee myself going backwards today though....I was busy and didn't pump as much as I should've - I'm going to pump one more time though, so I could be surprised......

Oh - and through trial and error, I have to say I see the best improvements through good old fashioned pumping for 20 minutes every 2 to 3 hours. with breast massage before and during. I've tried all the other tricks (pumping for 10 minutes on the hour somedays ALL day long)(pumping for 10 minutes on and 10 minutes off 3x every 3 hours - so at like 3:10, 3:30, 3:50 and then at 6:10, etc.) Plus I'm still taking the More Milk Plus special blend (the one with Goats Rue) and Reglan for now. (I only get that for 4 weeks - then I'll just wean and see if it hurts my supply....if it does I'll start ordering domperidone)

He's doing much better on the BM, we realized he's allergic to the formula, so we're exploring options. I'll be out of donated milk in another day or two, and have yet to find any more donors. I have everyone I know putting feelers out, but so far nothing. I have gotten him back to the breast with the help of the Lact-Aid, so I'll be taking the pump back probably tomorrow. I hated that thing, and it did nothing for me, so no point in continuing to pay for the rental.

You're not near Atlanta, are you? I would pump for you. Although you said he's allergic- is it to milk proteins? I do drink milk.

Milk can be frozen and shipped overnight by Fed-Ex across the country. I've done it, but of course it costs to buy the cooler & ice packs, and to ship.

Did you try on Milkshare.com?

I'm in CA. Thank you though. I did try milkshare, that's where I got the milk I have now. We're more than willing to pay for shipping... I'll PM you my email... MDC has rules about soliciting BM.

cristeen - how did you determine he's allergic to formula? I mean, my kids were a nightmare on regular formulas, but that goodstart stuff was PERFECT for them. I know BM is better, and if you can get it, by all means, but if you didn't try Goodstart yet, I highly recommend it for a sensitive tummy - it totally did the trick for all three of mine (I wouldn't even dream of giving them regular formula - my second two had nothing but goodstart and bm until they were much much bigger and could handle the other stuff). Sorry the pumping didn't help you. I'm thinking of getting the beginner SNS since it's so much cheaper than the others - I have to talk to the LC and see what she has available. I might also rent a hospital grade pump for one month, just to see if it makes a difference.

I only got 6.5 yesterday. Still a 2 oz increase, but that's technically LESS than the week before, so, I'm starting to slow down. I did stop taking the herbs though - those things were EXPENSIVE! I may start up again if I stop increasing altogether....just gotta play my options out.
