Swagbucks Swagcodes: What am I doing wrong?

Supposedly there are these codes hiding everywhere-- I am subbed to the blog and on their Facebook, and I'm not getting codes except for randomly when I search. What am I doing wrong?

I'd like to know too!
ummm, so what are you talking about, can you tell me more, please????
I never heard of them.... hummm

beats me... I am rarely smart enough to figure out the swaghunts myself.

But I have got $25 in Amazon gift cards from seraching and am half way to another $5 amazon card. For something that I don't do that often, it works for me.

As for those wondering about Swagbucks.... it's a website that you can search thru and you get "points". Points can be traded in for merchandise.

http://swagbucks.com/

People who are already a memeber, can get points for referring new people to the site as well, but an email invite has to be sent, so if anyone wants to join, message a current member for a referral email, or you can just sign up above.

Back to the OP - do you have the toolbar? Sometimes they give out codes thru that as well. Also, you can check the blog, they sometimes have codes that you have to hunt for on their site as well (which admittiedly I am not very good at myself).

I do have the toolbar, but I don't have it showing all the time. Maybe I should, LOL!

I just joined yesterday but so far, yes, it's all been free

I have 12 swagbucks so far!

Yes it is free. Yes you get free stuff. I've been doing it since February and have gotten probably $100 worth of Amazon gift cards. I've bought books, presents and 2 FuzziBunz diapers!

I never type a web address into the nav bar anymore. I only search for it. It takes an extra step, but I'm willing to do it for the free money!

OP- I don't really hunt down the hidden swag codes. I figure if I come across them I'll take them, but I don't have the time to seek them out.

Did you know that every hour someone wins 5swagbucks on the home page? you just have to go and look each hour to see if it is you. And if you search for 'swagbucks' you might win some in the process.

Please remember NOT to post referal links on the boards. That is considered advertising and is against the User Agreement. Thanks, all.

Ahhh Swagbucks. Something I am familiar with.

Swagbucks is a search engine that awards points at random. You save your points, and turn them in for things (cards, hats, wii's, amazon giftcards)
There are also swagcodes. Swagcodes are well, codes that are released and you put them on on the Swagbucks website and you're immediately awarded a swagbuck (or 2 sometimes!) no searching needed.

If you havent already, sign up.

My tips for getting lots of swagbucks.

PROMOTE. Get your referral link out there! Each person that signs up under you can earn you 100 swagbucks. (and did I mention it takes just 45 Swagbucks to earn a $5 amazon giftcard?) Each time someone signs up with your link and searches and gets a buck, you will too, up to 100 bucks per person. Sweet deal! (Shame MDC doesn't allow that, but WHAMS can post on their own boards...)

Download the toolbar. The Swag Guy (TSG) leaves messages on it with swagcodes at random.

Check the blog. TSG posts codes there too. (Theres a quick link in the toolbar to get to the blog, how handy!)

Become a fan on Facebook. (Another quick link in the toolbar)

Follow TSG on Twitter (Another link in the toolbar)

Find a Swidget. Here is a link to a blog I like to read (Shes a good shopper!) and she has a swidget on the bottom of her blog. You click the "Swagcode" button and it will tell you if there's an active swagcode out there, and where to find it.

Now some rules. If you find a swagcode you cannot post it on public forum. If the swag people find out, they'll deactivate your account. No good! You can give people tips on where to find the swagcode, just don't say what it is.

TSG will sometimes have "swag hunts" where you have to look around a certain site for a code, or letters in a code.
Codes are case sensitive! SomETImes thEYrE wrItTen liKE tHIS (annoying, right?)

Sometimes swagcodes are only good for 10 minutes, sometimes 5 hours, so keep an eye on the time and know your timezones! (TSG likes to use PDT time zone)

Now, I earn about 3-5 swagbucks a day searching like I would use google for things. If you outright just search random item after random item hoping to get swagbucks, it wont happen. They're tricky like that.

Fridays are Mega Swagbucks days. You could just search "chicken fajita recipe" and BAM! Win 10 swagbucks at once.

I love Swagbucks. I wont lie. Its going to make Christmas shopping a ton easier with all the amazon money I have saved up.
This is a very legit deal, and my inbox has not seen anymore spam than usual.

There is always mypoints too. I am about to order a $200 pottery barn quilt for $10 plus shipping from earning points for giftcards.

I have only managed to earn one swag buck after using it for almost a week. How do they award the bucks? I downloaded the toolbar and have been using it.

Sometimes, the code is on the second page of the serach results, or if you read a link or two from the first page, when you hit the back button, it will then be there.

They really try to give them out for real searches and not let people just randomly search for key words to find the codes.

I use the toolbar, that's the only way I've gotten them so far. I use it for Amazon gift cards to feed my Kindle.

So I shouldn't waste my time since it thinks only real searches are once or twice a day. I am on the computer way more than that so it doesn't sound worth it to me since it probably thinks I'm just searching randomly. I didn't know I had to look for a "code" when I used the search engine anyway. I think I'll stick to my banks award points my computer seems slower since I installed the toolbar anyway. I have to say I'm kinda disappointed. I thought wow that sounds good since I do a lot of searches anyway but if you actually do a lot of searches your punished and don't get anything...weird.

I have the swidget that I put on my own facebook and it tells me if there are any codes out.

I get codes constantly, but my husband overused it at the beginning and since then he has never gotten any swagbucks. It's really frustrating for him! lol.

I never knew about this, but I'm going to try it!
