Pregnant on Natural Progesterone - Nursing 15 Month Old

I am 6 weeks pregnant and my daughter is 15 months. The pregnancy was a surprise, but a nice one. The issue is that I hoped to have my first child weaned before I got pregnant again, but alas, that's not the case.

I took natural progesterone with the help of my chiropractor with my daughter's pregnancy and have decided to do it again. I've been taking it for several weeks now.

My daughter for the last week and a half has been so irritable, whiny and clinging to me. This is not normal for her at all. It is constant and the drama of throwing herself on the floor with tantrums is so frustrating. I'm wondering if this is a side effect of the progesterone or is it a coincidental developmental issue that will pass?

Anyone have experience with this? I really don't know what to do if it is the progesterone besides wean her because I need to continue taking it through the first trimester. I wouldn't mind weaning her, but I know she's not ready and I don't want behavioral side effects from a fast wean.

I am 15 weeks along and was on progesterone injections through my first trimester. I didn't notice any behavioral changes in DS (17 mo), but I did in myself. It might simply be a phase she is going through, many kids start to have tantrums at this age. Can you tell if your milk supply is still good? She might be getting less and that is making her irritable. I also don't know if progesterone supplementation would affect a boy and girl differently.

I took progesterone during the first trimester w/ds3 (after a m/c and then really low prog levels in early pg w/ds3) and was nursing both my older boys. I didn't notice any side effects at all.

I vote for coincidental, esp. since you said you have been on it for wks and your lo behavior change is recent.

My boys ALWAYS throw tantrums, act cranky, are completely disagreeable when they are coming down w/something. Could she be getting sick?
