can someone please tell me what I need to do to get my son into daycare in Ontario without his vaccines? I've been searchng threads and some say I needthe exemption form and others say I just have to write a letter and sign it. Does the exemption form only apply to school? If so, what should my letter say?

It will depend on the daycare. Most require proof of immunizations. If they do, just print off the exemption form, sign it and hand it in. Nuff said. Hopefully it's all you will need to do.

I'm not sure if private daycares have the right to refuse admittance if you don't have up to date vax. My daughter is in a private daycare but they never questioned it. She asked for proof of vax on day one, and on day two I brought in the exemption form. She never said another thing about it.

Of course it may have helped that we're in a Montessori school and most of the parents are rather unconventional. The director likely saw the form many times before.

According to this article that I just googled:

Quote:
Privately owned and operated nursery schools, daycares and other schools can demand to see proof of vaccination for enrollment. But publically-funded schools and daycares cannot ask for this... yet. In Ontario, the Ministry of Health is failing in its duty to adequately inform parents and legal guardians of the availability of exemptions to vaccination demand for school entry. Exemption forms must be notarized.
We are in a private (home) day care and our provider does not require proof of immunization. She selectively/delayed vaxes her own children.

If you are concerned about having to provide it, perhaps you could bring the issue up in your initial screening of providers and narrow down your list to those who do not require it?

Oh, and just found this, might be helpful with your question.

This site should have the info you need. Whether you need just a letter or the form will be up to the daycare itself.

And you should try to not think of them as "his" vaccines. They aren't his - they belong to the drug companies.

What did they request? Just enroll him and see what they want. Maybe nothing? I would just wait and see.

And as someone mentioned, the vaccines do not belong to your child in any way shape or form. They do not belong to any natural human being. We were not born in need of any such thing. They belong to a pharmaceutical company who makes huge amounts of money from every vaccine and stands to gain a lot more money due to the side effects to the vaccine and consequently ill health, allergies, asthma, cancer etc. of the recipient.

My GF had her son in daycare & she just filled out their immunization form with what he had & no one asked ot see anything else since she delays/selective vaxes.

I put my son in pre-school & I filled out the exemption form, had it signed by a commission of oaths for $12 & that was it.

It's mostly so they can report to the local public health offices what children are immunized & which ones aren't.

It wasn't a big deal, no one questioned me on anything. Just ask the day care what they want.

Whatever they want, tell them to put it in writing. No heresay.

I had to fill out the exemption form and have it signed by a notary public. I went to a Service Canada desk and it was free I think.

Thanks everyone. Looks like I do need the exemption form. There's only one day care here and they already asked for the exemption.
