I found this on MDC, and after seeing a bit of topics regarding waivers and cps I thought it might be helpful. I have personl exp w/ this and it can be a scary thing if you are not familiar with your rights.

While reading my states waiver rules, I found that it is also possible to get a medical waiver for your child if they have a severe reaction to a vaccine. It's some thing to look into if your child has had a bad reaction, to see if you can get that waiver and if your dr would sign it.

That's scary. I didn't know that some hospitals have a policy where they have to report it to social services if a parent refuses to vax her child.

Wow.

A medical waiver is only good for one year for one vaccine. Baby Bol, that is the official policy in New York state hospitals for the Hep B vaccine.

My personal experience as a lawyer is that many social workers are aware of the vaccine controversy and would not hold that against a parent. Most parents who do not vaccinate are making a concerted conscious effort to do the best for their child. They are not neglecting the care of their child.

A medical doctor or nurse is another problem. It has been my personal and professional experience that medical professionals believe in their medicines and vaccines will turn in a parent to CPS for neglect if a child is not fully vaccinated and find another reason to make it stick.
