Did a search, but not finding it--Pictures?

I thought I had read ... somewhere here that either there was no way to embed photos into posts or we weren't supposed to do that.

Am I just making this up? Because there's a button on the toolbar to insert images and I'm wondering why we all don't just use it, unless we're not supposed to, that is.

Can anyone help me be less confused?

The image tag is turned off in most of the forums. Photos cannot be imbeded into posts except for a few forums. People can imbed images in the Q&S forum because people post smilies they would like or other things.
