We are officially homeschooling

I just pulled my DD out of her school today, and we are on the way to homeschooling. It's very exciting.

My girls each have their own bedrooms, so they decided to share a room, and we will take the other room and make it the "classroom". They love the idea. My older DD will stay in school, but my younger DD will do the home school. My older says she likes school and wants to stay in and that's cool with DH and I. But she is still very interested in the whole process and says she wants to "do home school" on days when she doesn't have school.

My younger DD told me the "first thing I want to learn about is the body." Unsolicited, too. She just TOLD me. She's 4yo, by the way...

She wants to learn about animal bodies and how they get sick and she wants a field trip to the vet. Amazing how she just decided all this and blurted it out to me. It's very cool!

She also told me that she wants to "say the pledge" everyday (they didn't do that in her school) and that she wants to "sing a song" everyday (they didn't do that in her school, either). She really wants it the way she WANTS IT. So cute. I have to get an American flag now...

I'll be around here more now - getting advice!!!

Congrats! Don't be surprised when your older DD comes home from school one day and decides she wants to homeschool too. That's how it happened for us, the 8 year old started out the school year homeschooling & the 12 year old started in public school. It took 3 weeks of her seeing how much fun we were having and comparing it to her version of school and she came home too.

Yea... I'm thinking that might happen! So, I'm going to quietly get prepared just in case...
