Yet another liver thread... I apologize.
I'm completely ignorant on this subject though. I'm sold on the benefits of liver, though I've never eaten it before, so I got one (and a quarter... the rest was smithereens) from deer my relatives brought home Thursday. My biggest question is: is it supposed to smell like this? It's kind of nauseating.
I know it's fresh, obviously. But I really don't know what to make of this smell. Blegh.
One further thing -- am I doing right to soak it in water as I would fresh meat? I just assumed I should. I can't find much info on that aspect because all of the sites seem to assume that I'm buying it somewhere, not taking it right out of the animal myself. *sigh*
Thanks so much!
